Very good location with many options to explore around, additional option to use SPA right here, but limited SPA service due to renovation ( no pool, no sauna, no change room).
Room was cozy, nice winter wonderland feel with a fireplace. Recommendations: refill the hot water for afternoon tea from 3-6pm. Otherwise, it's lukewarm from sitting out since breakfast service. Also, the toaster setting burns thin-sliced bread. The sign asks guests not to adjust the setting, but something needs to be adjusted. Loved the animals, looking forward to visiting again maybe when the spa renovations are done.
Room was clean. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was great. They would provide you with 3 great options for hot breakfast and had access to the cold buffet items. They were conscious of my wife's gluten allergy and made accommodations. The area around the Inn had farm animals and llamas. There was also a trail to the falls. Overall very happy
It is in a gorgeous setting. A beautiful place to walk around and admird landscaping, views, swans, peacpcks, the Hudson river, etc. Staff is lovely and very accomodatng. I will be back.
We liked everthing, the only problem was the air conditioner was loud, we did not like the pillows. The place was beautiful and the service was great, we would come back.
It is just one of those special get-away places. The gardens and property are Monet-like and the food at Henry's as well as the breakfast in the morning are very satisfying. Staff is friendly, easy to engage and care about your visit. We stayed in Sage Left. Bed is comfortable, room and bathroom ample.
My daughter and I stayed here for two nights. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. Loved the tea time as well. Lovely area and lovely property. They are remodeling their Spa and Restaurant (which is due to move back on-property before Christmas). The inn is historic, so not totally quiet (can hear train faintly from across the river and in-room mini-fridge made noises during the night.
I loved it! It was so relaxing and comfortable. Wish I could’ve kept my robe but everything was great. They also don’t provide toothpaste in the room.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Buttermilk Falls grounds are lovely and the ménage of animals (llamas, donkeys, pigs, chickens) are delightful to explore. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
That said, there’s no security at night after 9:00PM and the doors to the Inn are left unlocked. In the event of emergency, your ‘re told to call 911.
More thought should be given to overnight security.
The rooms have lots of potential but are a bit tired and could use updating ….better lighting, overhaul of electric sockets, improved internet, larger TV’s and less dowdy furnishings (especially in the common area).
On a positive note breakfast is perfect and the staff in the dining room couldn’t be nicer.
First class Henry’s restaurant is right on the property opposite the main inn.
The Red House, Asian Fusion restaurant is a quick 3 min drive up the road and serves wonderful sushi and an array of interesting Asian delights.
All in all with a bit of updating this place could really be special.
