"Our experience was extremely disturbing and concerning. Upon entering our room, we were immediately overwhelmed by a powerful odor that smelled like a decaying carcass. The smell was so intense that you could taste it. It was difficult to breathe and impossible to ignore, making the room completely uninhabitable.
After reporting the issue, a hotel employee acknowledged that staff were already aware of the odor problem and had not yet identified the source. Despite knowing about this ongoing issue, the hotel continued renting the room to guests.
We were asked to wait while staff attempted to find us another room. After waiting an additional three hours, we were informed that no alternative accommodations were available, leaving us to find our own solution.
Since our exposure to the room, we have experienced illness that we believe is related to the toxic conditions and overwhelming odor. What should have been a safe and comfortable stay instead became a serious health concern.
To make matters worse, we were told that management had approved a full refund due to the circumstances. However, only a partial refund was ultimately issued, and the hotel refused to provide any written documentation regarding either the incident or the refund.
The decision to rent a room with a known unresolved odor issue, the failure to provide alternate accommodations, and the failure to honor the promised refund demonstrate a troubling lack of accountability and concern for guest safety."
