It’s obviously an older hotel and for that you expect it to be outdated. Everything surrounding has the south beach charm you expect. Right next to where manny was slackin and Angel got the chainsaw. If you like Scarface this is the place to stay

Super convenient place. There is a bus station and a CVS one block away. Though the property does not offer parking, there is a public garage just one block away, and the price is relatively cheaper ($20/day as of 04/2024) than most of the hotels offer around that area. The hotel is also very close to the beach. Only one I don't like is the that the hotel charges you $40 resort fee while the hotel does not have any amenities(no gym, no pool). The resort fee, according the hotel, is for beach chair(in your room), beach towel and two small bottles of water, which seems pricey. Given that most of the hotels around that area do the same thing, I'd accept that as a South Miami Beach thing.

Hotel only has three floors and first floor is restaurant. There is no lobby. Front desk is also cashier for restaurant. Band plays music at night. It gets very noisy at night due to busy restaurant and band music. I heard wood cracking noise from ceiling every time when people from upper level moved around. The hotel must be built with wood. Hotel staffs were not friendly nor professional.

I’d give it 5 stars but there is NO COFFEE in the rooms and no coffee in the lobby until 7am! Parking is in a private parking garage, but that’s the norm for South Beach

Comparing to the old buildings all these beach front south beach hotels, rooms are pretty descent and clean. If peace is part of ur deal, DO NOT book a room facing the beach, specifically over the weekend you will not be able to sleep till 4 or 5 am, loud cars putting in a show and people for some reason constantly screaming . Food is really good, descent complimentary breakfast is a nice feature. Staff very kind and very helpful. Best device I can give you if you have a Rent-A-Car is to make a deal with the next door valet for ur entire stay, Don’t bother looking for street parking and absolutely don’t park in the parking structure (it is not daily charge, every time you leave and go back, they gonna charge you the whole amount over again).

One of many Art Deco hotels on the famous Ocean Drive strip which puts you into the middle of what Miami Beach has to offer. What is unusual is that they don’t offer lunch. This may seem odd but as all the neighbouring hotels and of course restaurants do it makes for a peaceful place for guests which we appreciated. Alas at the end of our stay the airline cancelled our flight home. We appreciated the support from the managers in what was a busy hotel which enabled us to stay on. Indeed we heard some one say sorry we have just sold the last room.

It a nice boutique hotel. Staff was nice and friendly and even gave kids a gift to greet them. The breakfast was less than desirable and I don’t like a resort fee for am hotel that has zero extra amenities. $177 for a folding chair and beach towels is excessive. Restaurant was a bit expensive for me but I tried the key lime pie which was very excellent. Beautiful and friendly wait staff. You don’t need a car right across from beach.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Avalon. The staff were great, especially Camiliho at the front desk and Mercedes for her ever present smile. The only problem we encountered was the late housekeeping of our room and forgetting to replace a couple of items a few days in a row. Not a big deal but a very nice, clean well run hotel. The free breakfast each day was a nice touch too!

The customer service was amazing and accommodating! We stayed for 5 nights and every time we had a need or a question, the staff was eager to help - from the front desk to housekeeping to the breakfast staff. The only downside is that the wait staff at the on-site restaurant, which I understand has not much to do with the hotel, was a bit rude. We only ate there once, found other options after that.

The Avalon Hotel is a great place to stay if you want to be in the middle of all the action in South Beach. We stayed for 4 nights in Feb. 2024 and absolutely loved it. Our room and bathroom were small, and we did struggle a bit with having enough outlets and space in the bathroom, but for the price and keeping in mind that this is a 3-star level hotel (out of 5), it really was fine (we wanted to be outside all the time anyway!). As you arrive, you’ll find the front desk in the hotel’s restaurant. As we waited to check in, I popped into the bar and grabbed a couple of beers. It was so nice to be able to do this! We loved having the restaurant and bar downstairs. This is also the spot where you’ll find your included breakfast. Each morning we grabbed our coffee and sat on the patio enjoying the warm weather and sunshine. During the day, we grabbed beach towels from the front desk and walked across the street to the beach. The room includes beach chairs, but we preferred using the lounge chair/umbrella rental service on the beach. It was easy and inexpensive! Two beach loungers and an umbrella was $66.00 (we did tip our guy, so a little more) - and you basically own those chairs until 5:00. Highly recommend it! Finally, evenings were easy as we found cocktails and dinner choices galore just steps from the hotel. The Avalon Hotel was a great choice, and next time we’re in Miami, we’ll definitely stay again!

Loved how quiet this place was during the day in comparisons to other hotels on Ocean Drive. Our room was right above the Main Street and still very quiet with the windows closed. The bathrooms could use a fan and some updating, but overall this was a wonderful place to stay!

The staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable and clean. The location was excellent. The breakfast was very enjoyable. Would highly recommend the Avalon for a stay in South beach. It was wonderful!
