Inase Bed and Breakfast is a family run establishment at Otsu near Kyoto (Japan). It is a 2017 renovation of an old building. Inase aims to offer a traditional Japanese experience and does it extremely well. My partner and I chose the "western style" room. It was lovely. However, older visitors may find the absence of anywhere to sit a bit of a problem. The "seats" are Japanese style which means a chair with no legs that sits on a mat.
