"Nice restaurant and bar area, and staff were all very good. There is a good patio area with tables to the front of the property and it was easy to park. The music being played during the evening was excellent. Breakfast was pleasant but my full English was overdone slightly - hot but a bit on the crispy side. Having said that, dinner the night before was very good. The room was clean but the aircon was very noisy so we had to turn it off and it was very warm. The bathroom was clean but the shower had a mind of it's own and kept deciding what temperature it wanted to be despite what setting I wanted. All in all, a very good hotel with good food and staff."

"Arrived check in was easy room nice and large and spotless except the air con didn’t work offered a fan once asked which was very noise and kept catching the gaurd. On check out was offered a 20% refund which still hasn’t happened."

"Stayed for a night on our way down to Devon. Arrived early evening (730pm-ish), there was no one on Reception and it took a couple of buzzer calls to get someone out to check us in. Our room (well, two rooms - we'd booked a family room but got two adjoining rooms instead) was comfy, if warm. We kept the desk fan on all night. We slept well, not disturbed by any traffic outside of the hotel or by any noise inside. Our rate included breakfast, which was good value and reasonable choice. We'd stay here again if needing to break up a journey to the south west."

"Sam, the general manager greeted us warmly on arrival, was very helpful, friendly and professional. Our courtyard room was clean and comfortable with a garden table just outside the door. Plenty of tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Dinner and breakfast were both plentiful and delicious. Highly recommended for a stay in the Mendips with dogs."

"We really enjoyed our stay here. A lovely property, comfortable and very well appointed.The property had everything we could have needed. There are great views from the main living space right across the valley. The bed was very comfortable and the location gives very easy access to Cheddar, Weston-Super-Mare and other surrounding areas. There are some great dog friendly parts of the beach there which were ideal for us. The walk up and along the top of Cheddar Gorge is highly worth seeking out. There are breath taking views at the top of the cliffs, looking out towards the reservoir and beyond.If we return to this area again, we would be delighted to stay here again."
