About this property

Cityscape 901 | Top-Floor City View, Brunswick 3BR

  • Summary:

Cityscape 901 is a top-floor, three-bedroom, two-bathroom Brunswick apartment with a balcony that faces the Melbourne skyline. Sleeps six: two bedrooms plus a twin room for kids, and an ensuite off the main bedroom. Island kitchen, washer and dryer, Wi-Fi and a desk. The building has a gym, cinema and games room, BBQ deck and a meeting room. One secure garage space, lift and self check-in. Trains, Sydney Road trams and Barkly Square are all close.

    The Space:

Cityscape 901 is a top-floor, three-bedroom apartment on Albert Street in Brunswick, and its balcony looks straight down the line to the Melbourne skyline. On a clear evening the towers turn gold behind the old brickworks chimney. Six guests get two bathrooms, a proper kitchen and a twin room the children will claim first.

    The Space

The living room is one long open space with floor-to-ceiling glass along the balcony side. A grey leather corner lounge sits on a patterned rug with a slatted oak coffee table, and the TV has a game console for the evenings. A pale oak dining table stands by the sliding door, so dinner comes with the view.

The kitchen is built around a timber-faced island with a white benchtop. It has an oven, electric cooktop, dishwasher, microwave, fridge and freezer, a Nespresso machine, toaster and kettle, plus a baking sheet, cooking basics and wine glasses. Children's tableware is in the cupboard.

Air conditioning and central heating cover every season. Roller blinds on the big windows soften the afternoon sun, and board games and books are on hand for a night in.

    Sleeping Arrangements

Three bedrooms for six guests. The main bedroom has its own ensuite, and the second bathroom serves the other two rooms. Both bathrooms have walk-in showers behind glass.

One bedroom has a green velvet bedhead and a white armchair. The other has a soft grey bedhead and the same kind of chair. The third is a twin room with two single beds under pink scalloped bedheads, which suits children, or two colleagues who would rather not share a bed. Hotel-quality linen, black-out blinds, extra pillows and blankets, and closet space throughout. A cot is available for a baby.

    Work and Connectivity

Fast Wi-Fi and a dedicated workspace in the apartment. When a call needs a proper room, the building has a meeting room with a large screen and a work-from-home office floor with desks. A washing machine, in-unit dryer, drying rack and iron make a longer stay simple. Long-term stays are welcome.

    The Balcony

The balcony runs the width of the living room, with an outdoor table and chairs and a bar stool at the rail. Look south and the CBD towers line up above the treetops of the park below, with the brick chimney standing out on the right. It is the best seat in the apartment at sunset.

    Building Amenities

Residents share a gym, a cinema and games room with a PlayStation on the big screen, a kitchen and lounge, communal dining rooms, and an outdoor deck with a pergola, long tables and a BBQ. One secure garage space is included, and free street parking takes a second car. Lift access and self check-in with an access pass. Pets are allowed.

    The Neighbourhood

Cityscape 901 points at the city, and getting there is easy. Brunswick station and Jewell station are both under a kilometre away on the Upfield line, and Sydney Road trams run south into the Melbourne CBD. From Melbourne Central it is a short walk to Chinatown, the State Library of Victoria and the Queen Victoria Market.

Closer to home, Sydney Road has cafés, bakeries, grocers and bars along the whole length of Brunswick. Barkly Square has the supermarkets, about a 16-minute walk away. The RMIT University Brunswick campus is a few minutes on foot, and Temple Park is a short walk for a kick of the footy.

For a day in Carlton, Lygon Street has Brunetti for cakes and coffee and Readings for books. Carlton Gardens holds the Royal Exhibition Building and Melbourne Museum, about ten minutes by car.

Game days are close too. Ikon Park at Princes Park hosts Carlton and the AFLW, and the Melbourne Cricket Ground is about 13 minutes by car. Melbourne Zoo sits on the edge of Royal Park, around two kilometres away.

For medical and academic stays, the Royal Children's Hospital and the Royal Melbourne Hospital are in Parkville, about eight minutes by car, beside the University of Melbourne.

Further out, St Kilda Beach is about 20 minutes by car, and Docklands has NewQuay Marina and the Port Phillip Ferries terminal. Southern Cross has the coach terminal and regional trains. Melbourne Airport at Tullamarine is about 25 minutes by car outside peak hour.
