About this property

Parkrise 902 | Modern Brunswick 2BR, 2 Bathrooms

  • Summary:

Parkrise 902 is a modern two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment on the ninth floor in Brunswick, with a balcony over the parkland beside the building. Two queen bedrooms, one with an ensuite, so two couples each get their own bathroom. Oak kitchen, dining for four, a built-in desk nook, washer and dryer and fast Wi-Fi. Residents share a gym, cinema room and BBQ deck. One secure garage space, lift and self check-in. Sydney Road, three train stations and the Parkville hospitals are close.

    The Space:

Parkrise 902 is a modern two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment on the ninth floor of a Brunswick building that sits right beside open parkland. It is made for four people who each want a room and a bathroom of their own: two couples on a weekend, a parent visiting family in hospital, or two colleagues on a month-long project. From the balcony, the lawns sit below and the suburbs roll out to the horizon.

    The Space

The living room is warm and relaxed. A black leather corner lounge sits on a patterned rug around a round slatted oak coffee table, with a rust armchair across from it and a large bird print in deep green on the wall. Windows on two sides and the glass balcony door bring in plenty of daylight. The TV has a game console.

The kitchen runs along one wall under oak cabinets, with a mustard tile splashback and a stainless steel fridge. It has an oven, stove, dishwasher, microwave, freezer, coffee maker, toaster and kettle, with a baking sheet, cooking basics and wine glasses. The oak dining table seats four and stands right beside the sliding door, with a view over the treetops.

Air conditioning and heating keep it comfortable all year. Board games are in the cupboard for a quiet night in.

    Sleeping Arrangements

Two bedrooms, each with a queen bed in a solid timber frame, hotel-quality linen and a lamp on each side. The main bedroom has its own ensuite, and a second full bathroom serves the other room, so nobody queues in the morning. Both bathrooms have walk-in showers behind glass and a rust-coloured tiled feature wall. A wingback reading chair, black-out blinds, extra pillows and blankets complete the rooms.

    Work and Connectivity

A built-in desk nook near the entry has its own shelf light and a stool, so the laptop has a home that is not the dining table. Fast Wi-Fi covers the apartment. Downstairs, the building has a work-from-home office floor and a meeting room with a large screen. A washing machine and dryer are in the apartment, and long stays are welcome.

    The Balcony

The balcony has a high black table with four rust-red bar stools. It looks over the green of the park and a long view across Melbourne's suburbs. Take the first coffee out here before work, or a glass of wine as the light goes.

    Building Amenities

Residents share a gym with free weights and machines, a cinema and games room, a kitchen and lounge, communal dining rooms and an outdoor deck with a pergola, long tables and a BBQ. One secure garage space is included, with free street parking for visitors. Lift access and self check-in with key cards. Pets are allowed.

    The Neighbourhood

The parkland beside the building is the start of a green run through Melbourne's north. Head south to Royal Park, where the Trin Warren Tam-boore wetlands sit beside Melbourne Zoo, or run the loop around Princes Park and Ikon Park. Northcote Public Golf Course is about six minutes by car, and the Merri Creek Trail runs through Brunswick East and Coburg for a long weekend walk.

Sydney Road is a few minutes on foot, lined with Lebanese bakeries, Greek and Turkish grocers, cafés and pubs. Barkly Square has the supermarkets. In Brunswick East, the Lomond Hotel on Nicholson Street is a long-running live music pub.

North in Coburg, the old Pentridge prison is now a precinct of cafés and a cinema, and the Coburg Drive-In still screens films under the stars. To the west, the Clocktower Centre in Moonee Ponds hosts theatre and concerts.

For hospital and university visits, the Royal Park Campus of the Royal Melbourne Hospital is about 1.3 km away. The Royal Children's Hospital and the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Parkville are about eight minutes by car. RMIT University's Brunswick campus is a short walk, and the University of Melbourne is a short tram ride down Royal Parade.

Getting around is simple. Anstey, Brunswick and Jewell stations are each within about 13 minutes on foot on the Upfield line into the city. Melbourne Central and Chinatown are about ten minutes by car, and the MCG about 13. Southern Cross coach terminal is about ten minutes away, and Melbourne Airport at Tullamarine about 24 minutes by car.
