"Stuart met us on arrival and was so helpful. Taking the time to advise us on best ways to go into town, and then changing our room to one with a separate shower rather than over the bath which was better for my husband. He arranged a taxi for us on departure day and was just so nice. All of the staff were friendly and helpful and the room was spotless."

"Very nice lady on reception. Paid for breakfast which was not as ordered. We gave exact instruction as items to be very well cooked, this was not the case and did not have time to return it! The water in the shower was freezing. Plus the extractor very noisy. Parking was great and bus service very close. Enjoyed drinks in the bar, such a pity the other major things were not up to scrach. "Briliant location - surrounded by countryside but less than 10 minutes' drive into Durham. Very dog friendly, with great walks from the door. Rooms were clean and cosy, with toiletries and tea and coffee facilities supplied. There is a sitting area inside and a large garden space. Breakfast was simple and delicious. The owners are friendly and gave us some good recommendations, but also gave us our own space. "
