"The Plover Retreat is an adorable, cozy cabin. Close to downtown Grand Marais and a short drive to Lake Superior and Pictured Bay Rocks National Lakeshore. The cabin was clean, with day to find and perfect. It was just my husband and myself, we enjoyed the deck and cooking a few meals in the kitchen."

"Short stay in the UP. The property was clean and stocked with all of the essentials. Owner had very good communication. Good neighborhood and enjoyed the peace and quiet."

"Host could have at least provided water of some sort. Smelled musty, no dishes or utensils not even cups for coffee, if I wanted to do dishes couldn't even do that as there was not kitchen towels or wash cloths provided. Fire pit but no wood. I'm not sure what a cleaning fee is for. There is nothing to clean. Beds are just mattresses on floor with fitted sheet. Overall 0 stars"

"This little cabin was fantastic, even for just a couple. Every detail was perfect. Anything one could need was right there in the cabin- making things so easy and stress free. The lake was beautiful, from sunrise to sunset. It was so nice to be truely alone, like stepping back in time. We relaxed, read books, had bonfires, star gazed, and BBQed! It was really such a perfect family place- we felt guilty leaving the kids with grandma for our anniversary trip. We will be back and will be bringing...

"We had a great stay here! Plenty of space for our family of five, a great spot for campfires, and short drive to restaurants and beach in Grand Marais. Our kids loved the extras like coloring books and building blocks too."

There were a few minor things that could use repaired the bathroom door as other reviews have mentioned the sliding screen door and there was no light in the refrigerator but overall things were very very good and Sue was a great hostess we would definitely recommend this place to our friends."

"The cabin is exactly what a few guys coming up to explore and enjoy the UP would want/need. It has enough cooking gear to prepare anything you want, and a great view to enjoy while doing it. We enjoyed the fishing in the area and the fish shack was a welcomed amenity to cleaning the fish."
