Abandoned property

i was trying to contact the hosts for weeks, a VRBO agent even tried to assist me but no response! til the day we’re supposed to chk in, i found out that the owner abandoned the property! Wondering why VRBO didn’t know anything about it ? So we were scrambling to find another place to stay! so stressful!
