When is the best time to go to Makerere?
The best time to visit Makerere is during the dry seasons, which run from December to February and again from June to August. These periods offer the most pleasant weather for exploring the area.

During the dry months, you'll experience less rainfall and more sunshine, making it ideal for walking around the Makerere University campus, visiting the local markets, and enjoying outdoor cafes. This also means the roads, particularly those off the main tarmac, are generally in better condition, making travel smoother.

For academics or those interested in the university's activities, attending during the university's term time, particularly in the drier months, allows for a more vibrant campus experience. You'll find more students about, lectures in session, and various university events taking place.
