Beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting. My room was large, clean and had great amenities. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was fantastic, great selection for breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner menu had a variety to choose from.

Beautiful location. Free bikes were in very poor state of repair and not really fit for purpose. Food in restaurant exceeded our expectations.

This lodge backs right up onto the rice paddies, and you can hop on a hotel bike and ride the easy paths right from there. So excellent location for accessing the rice paddies and for photos. It is a little ways from the village, about 1.6KM, so its best to bike to the village if you plan to go there for shopping or cheaper food. Otherwise, the hotel has great food and drinks, but not as cheep as you will find in the village. Everything is clean and fairly modern, it really has a resort feel. Pool is small, but usable and there is nightly entertainment included. Breakfast is very good. Staff is very helpful and friendly.

Booked the deluxe room. it was facing the rice fields and mountains. nice view and relaxing. Free bike rental to cycle around the small villages. Room has a musky smell though. Other than that, everything was fine. Staff friendly!

Nice bungalows in countryside
Leafy walks, private verandah, and pleasant swimming pool. Good birdlife, nice cold beer and outdoor eating area. Stayed one night.

Disappointment and anger at every turn
The hotel listing touts services that are unavailable, for example, laundry and the ability to book tours 24 hours in advance. Additionally, the outdoor shower is unusable as it is visible from the multiple elevated sidewalks. ALL outdoor showers are this way therefore no one used them. The food is just bad and was often served lukewarm even when freshly prepared. I signed up for a 50 minute massage and it only lasted for 35 minutes and, yes, I timed it. I went on a ridiculously overpriced hiking tour with a guide that yelled onto his phone the entire time. The room is pretty and the views are amazing but the lights flickered on all night even when I had switched them off. I rented a bike and the brakes barely worked. It was literally disappointment at every turn. I recommend that you not stay here as you will simply be angry and feel ripped off.

wonderful experience
The rooms were clean and beautiful, with lots of privacy and our own section of the balcony with lounge chairs. We had a room without the mountain views since it was slightly cheaper. There are only 3 or 4 rooms like that and it looks like the rest face the mountain views. Our view was just trees and plants, but we were only in our room to sleep and rest. The tour we took for the Sunday Pa Co village market was an amazing experience and our guide was really great. She helped to negotiate prices a bit. The market is a must...there were barely any tourists there and we went 1 week ago in the end of January. Also took a bike tour with the same guide later in the day and it was a great experience to meet the thai people in their homes. Food in the hotel restaurant was good. Breakfast was included for our room, but lunch and dinner were not. Prices of the dishes are closer to western prices. Overall, we loved our stay!

Staff at the lodge are very friendly and helpful. Try to avoid staying at the lodge on weekend when big groups of local vietnamese spent their holidays there as well. Noise disturbance at the reception desk, restaurants, pool area.

The room was outstanding with views across the paddy fields and it's own private pool. The entire experience of the location and the ecolodge is the perfect way to unwind. 2 nights here is a must! The food was exquisite.

Serene Stay at Mai Chau Ecolodge
Wonderful. Night time was very cold though we never switch on the air conditioning. The room was dark. Probably in line with the theme. Bathroom with the huge tube was a bit clunky, turning on the water heater was abit cumbersome. But then it is an ecolodge and not a resort. Best thing about this trip was actually getting there. The pitstop by the mountainside was awesome with cows, valleys and stalls selling fresh boiled eggs and red corn. Fantastic view too!

Incredible location with stunning views
The ecolodge rooms , food and location are all 5 star with incredible views in the surrounding mountains and rice paddies. The free use of bikes is a bonus but you are fairly limited in options of activities. It's a perfect stop over if your looking for a quiet holiday with some short hikes/bike, but evening entertainment is minimal (also pitch black darkness by 5.30)!

Heaven on Earth
When we arrived we were not greeted as expected as you entered a non descript car park with no evidence that you have arrived at the resort. The car park is also where the staff accommodation is located. Someone did emerge from the staff building to inform us that reception was up the hill and just follow the pathway while they fetched our bags from the car. When we arrived at the top of the hill the view over the rice patties toward the mountains was so awe inspiring that our arrival experience just faded into insignificance. Upon checking in reception upgraded us to the Presidential suite. Now that a first for us. The room was huge and the views absolutely breathtaking. Language cannot adequately describe this most beautiful of locations. It has to be lived to be appreciated. In the context that this is an eco lodge and not the Ritz one must judge the resort, the service and the facilities in this context. For an Eco lodge I would give it 5/5. For location and views a 9/5 , yes that's 9 out of 5 if that's possible. This place has to be experienced to appreciate the wonders of Vietnam country living. While there we enjoyed the complimentary bikes provided and took leisurely rides through the ripe rice fields in the cool of the evening. Wow, to watch real Vietnam village life as they cut the rice into bundles, collected it, put it through the thresher and stored the rice in sacks later to be spread out on the ground to be dried was an amazing experience.

This is by far the best accommodation option in Mai Chau. Location, activities, transportation and rooms were perfect. Definitely recommended.

staff except reception try their best.the pool is over crowed and very noisy. The wooden bath tub and the curtain in the room had moulder. The bed sheets in our sons room had stains.The juices for breakfast contains 10% juice and rest is water with sugar.We booked an trekking excursion full day,the car ride was 1 hour and we had a wonderful guide,but after an aweful tasting cold lunch which was supposed to be a hot meal I was sick for three days.We payed an average month salary in Vietnam for that.

I already worked with the local house in Pu Luong to check why they made this experience happen to you, and make sure that if there is a second time like this, we will terminate our contract with them and choose another house with more responsibilities. It is also because this is the first time we receive a bad review about this local house, however it is unacceptable to let customers be through such an experience! I do hope that our little refund for this lunch will help us gain back your feeling about staying in Mai Chau Ecolodge. Regarding to the rooms, I have noted with our Director about the necessary maintenance and to make sure customers will have a lovely stay with us. So good to hear that you love the tour and our guide (except the lunch). We will try to enhance our strengths and improve our weaknesses to meet all customers' requirement. Schön angelegtes Hotel in sehr schöner Umgebung, gutes Restaurant zu angemessenen Preisen. Leider etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Waren im Januar dort, Zimmer war recht feucht und dunkel und etwas eingestaubt, daher überteuert.

Tras ver los hoteles que hay en Mai Chau es el más decente donde te puedes alojar, sin embargo para lo caro que es no ofrece buenos servicios. Tuvimos los siguientes problemas: - Estabamos en la habitación deluxe y el baño no tenia ventilación y la bañera y las cortinas daban un poco de asco. - La comida comparada con bares callejeros esta bien pero para un hotel de esta calidad estaba aceitosa y con sabores mezclados, así como alguna sarten que vimos en el desayuno muy muy sucias. - El servicio intenta engañarte continuamente. Por la mañana preguntanos en recepcion para ir a Pu Luong, y nos enseñaron una tabla de precios, donde especificaba que un coche de 4 plazas costaba menos de 1 millon de vietbam dongs. Por la tarde volvimos a recepcion, y le preguntamos a la chica que costaba ir a Pu Luong. Entonces nos dijo que lo iba a mirar, y volvio y nos escribio en un papel que costaba 2 millones de dongs. Entonces le dijimos que por la mañana vimos una carta de precios, se quedo sorprendida y entonces la fue a buscar y nos dijo que habia sido un error suyo, que se pensaba que queriamos un coche grande... cuando solo eramos 2 personas. Nos precio muy fuerte que te intenten engañar así. - Ibamos a estar 3 noches, pero al final estuvimos dos porque no ofrecían ninguna excursión o información sobre lugares para ver. - Al pagar el hotel, mientras estabamos esperando el taxi, nos vinieron a reclamar 2 aguas del minibar, y les dijimos que nunca nos pusieron agua dentro...

Wonderful place to stay in wonderful Mai Chau
From the moment we arrived, we were made feek welcome. The lodge is beautiful laid out in a well kept garden with an excellent view of the surroundings. The bungalows are spacious and very comfortable. The wooden bathtub is exceptional. We had a wonderful stay. Minor comments: the (free) bikes can be better maintained.

Schitterende locatie midden tussen de rijstvelden
Vanuit Hanoi zijn we hier 1 nacht geweest. Dat is achteraf te kort. Je moet hier minimaal 2 nachten blijven om zodoende 1 volle dag te kunnen genieten van deze locatie. Het is een schitterende plek. Het complex bestaat uit huisjes die trapsgewijs tegen de heuvel zijn opgebouwd. Elk huisje bestaat uit twee kamers. De kamers zijn ruim, van alle luxe voorzien en hebben een buitendouche in je eigen tuin. In het restaurant kan je zowel binnen (airco) als buiten eten. Wij hebben buiten gegeten om zo te kunnen genieten van het uitzicht over de vallei. Kwaliteit van het eten is prima.

We stayed in a family trip. The room is independent, broadly, a comfortable, clean. By the way, ATM there is only one in this town. It is recommended that you bring a lot of cash.

Begränsad upplevelse för mycket pengar.
Dalen Mai Chao är intressant för sin jordbrukskultur, byar med traditionella hus, Thai-folket, och vacker med sina risfält och berg. Hotellanläggningen har fina byggnader i trä, vacker trädgård och bra pool. Den ligger avsides och borde - för sitt höga pris - erbjuda gästerna transport till och från huvudortens busstation. Personalen rekryteras från området. Den är artig och vänlig. Kunskaperna i engelska är mycket dåliga. Hotellet borde satsa på att förbättra dem, om man vill ha internationella gäster. Hotellet saknar fyllig information om området: historia, kultur, natur och hur man orienterar sig. Vägvisningen är förvirrad. Sammantaget: Ecolodge är inte så prisvärd som den skulle kunna vara.
