Best Place to Ruin your Vacation!
This is the best place in Madrid to start off your vacation with the left foot. This is the most expen$$$ive HOSTAL in Madrid -AIN"T A HOTEL. The JC rooms are claustrophobic, no water, no amenities, and it feels like sleeping in an upgraded casket. The front desk is "run" by one person -it's really a ONE man Hostal show. The final act... we discovered the Hostal double charged our credit card for one extra night. Good luck trying to get your money back :( This people are professional deceivers and there's no hospitality. We suggest to change the name of the hotel to: VR Hostal (Vacation Ruin/Virtual Reality Hostal)

We did not like how small the room was. Almost no room to place our suitcases on the floor. No other place to put them. Beds were only made with a sheet. It needs a light quilt or blanket. Air conditioner worked great. Shower was great.

Generally dozens of rooms with windows onto the square. However do not accept to be put into room Ukraine (Ucrania) on the first floor. It’s like a dungeon, a bunker, practically no daylight coming in, you need lights on during the day! Claustrophobic.

The room is way too small for four people, no space even for a suitcase. Breakfast was terrible too, better not to offer anything than offer this.

Good Location
The hotel is really a good location. Shopping and tourist spots are walkable. The only bad thing happened to us was my niece was unfortunately locked in bathroom for 3 hours. She locked it but it didn't opened anymore until the owner came. The lock was complicated. It happened middle of the night. So it was a trauma. Be careful and the management must do about this.

Good: Great location, close to most things but very busy area. Front desk helpful. Mini fridge. Internet worked well. Had an elevator. Bad: Small room and bathroom with an odd toilet. Funny cleaning smell. Thin walls.

A overall good hotel in the centre of town
Overall good. Brilliant position for getting around, great service by the staff, clean bright and modern. Only down side was the noise ( 1 st floor facing square is not for those who need quiet to sleep or need an early night!) but that is the price you pay for being in the centre of town.

Please do not advertise "breakfast included". The single croissant is a joke. Besides, starting at 8AM on weekends - ridiculous. Obviously nobody cares about your traveling guests. The hospitality business you've chosen to be in is not an 8-to-5 job!

Perfectly situated family apartment
Lovely apartment right in the heart of the old town amid the bars, restaurants and historic sights. Warmly welcomed by Jesus who also gave us recommendations of where to visit. Apartment had everything we needed (fridge, iron , wifi etc) Fab place.

Charming but small, centrally located.
Interesting hotel with unique charm. The rooms are small, however, and the bathrooms as well. During the week it is fairly quiet, but I suspect that on the weekends it may be loud. For a quick stay it’s ok.

Nice location but very small room
The location is great because it's close to Gran Via and other city activities or other plaza square, but it was hard to find the hotel because it was tucked in away from the main street. Looking for it at night time was difficult. There was a free drinks which was nice. The room and bathroom was too small, no window in the room and I felt suffocated. Wifi was not good.

A step above a Hostel- Good last resort.
Felt like living in a doll house. Very tiny. Noisy in the hall ways, not so much from outside. Front desk was average. Its a step above a hostel, but not too much more. You better like the people your with due to the small size.

Quirky but comfortable
Quirky, European themed hotel, very comfortable for a few days stay. Lovely receptionist let us check into our room much earlier than expected which was handy. Room was ready and spotless - so clean everything was practically sparkling. Very good location, everything was either in short walking distance or easily reached on the metro which you can access across the street. Wealth of restaurants and bars by the hotel. Staff very helpful and welcoming! Cons: Not much to fault, only thing I could say is that, while the shower was very modern it did leave the bathroom floor soaked but might just have been an issue with the seal on our shower door. Once we knew we could work around it and it wasn't an issue.
