There’s a small grocery store 2kms away in Monteaux selling local produce, including baguettes, vegetables, cold meats and wine. The Chateau du Chaumont is just across the Loire River. "My family and I enjoyed this house and it was great to be able to appreciate the old architectural charm of the building. The outdoor space was perfect for us and was a big plus. The house isn’t right in the city center but we were able to walk or ride bikes into town very conveniently. The only real negative was the checkin and checkout process as the place where we had to pick up and drop off the key was not close by especially if you were in a rush or didn’t have a car. "Can’t recommend it enough! Lovely, modern home. Walking distance to everything the city offers. Private parking (you’ll need it if staying in the old part of town!) and everything just as advertised. Géraldine was beyond accommodating in meeting us for check in and out. We even got champagne for Christmas and an advent calendar for the kids. Basics are included and most appreciated: coffee, tea, salt, sugar, some jam and biscuits, washer detergent and paper products to get you started. Super...
