The view from the porch is great, and the cabin itself is very cozy! Loved the wood stove, definitely helped keep the chill off! Will absolutely return to see the scenery in different seasons!
The cabin was cozy, private, and clean. We enjoyed spending time inside, offline, and fishing in the nearby pond. It's a great home base for enjoying Shenandoah and near excellent hiking routes. It was a great stay.
Had a great trip to this beautiful area. Cabin was very nice & in a very secluded area -be aware driveway very narrow. Pond with nice dock & inner tubes…. but if fishing is important to you we did not have much luck & had several visitors who showed up during our stay that took over the dock to make things not so private. I definitely recommend the cabin for convenience to Skyline Drive & Charlottesville.
The cabin was adorable, cozy, clean, and just what we were hoping for. No internet. No cable TV. Just the sounds of nature and the isolation we very much needed. I'd love to come back when it's colder and fire up the woodstove. The fishing was good early in the day. There were maps up of nearby hospitals, which I really appreciated, but also local street maps and guides. We went to an apple festival just up the street and it was delightful
We spent just 3 short days in this cabin. The location is beautiful and so lush in the spring. The opportunity for some casual fishing in the pond was fantastic. We appreciated the air conditioner, full kitchen, and collection of DVDs.Nothing super fancy but a lovely spot for a weekend escape to the mountains.
The property was easy to find based on the hosts instructions and the cabin was just as pictured. Very clean with everything we needed for the weekend. Would stay here again and recommend to others.
My wife and I had a great time at this cabin in Syria. It was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed to enjoy ourselves. Definitely will be back for another visit.
My wife & I stayed with our twin 7 year olds and 2 dogs for 3 nights. It was secluded and had beautiful views of the pond. No cell service or internet so it was great family time of fishing, hiking horseback riding, building fires etc. Wonderfil time
The property is remote but check-in directions provided by the hosts were clear and easy to follow. The cabin was clean and had plenty of linens and towels, along with a reasonably well-stocked kitchenette. Overall, a lovely stay - note there is internet or cellphone service!
Really enjoyed our stay at ORMC. The checkin process was simple and the cabin was very clean. Had no issues whatsoever. Had a great time fishing, hiking, and swimming in the surrounding area. Will likely return at some point!
We wanted to see fall colors and enjoy some cooler temperatures, and we got all that and more.
The cabin is nestled in the trees and right next to a small lake, very picturesque. Check in was opening a padlock on the mailbox. The cabin is a nice size for 2 and is nicely equipped for meal prep, relaxation and unplugged enjoyment.
We had a wonderful time relaxing. The cabin was perfect for us.
We hiked the trails and enjoyed the Yoder's market for lunch. Friendly people all around.
Definetly coming back.
My five year old and I stayed here over the weekend as a trip before he starts kindergarten. We had a wonderful time fishing, making s’mores and memories. Thanks for sharing your place with us. It’s the perfect get away from anybody.
This was a perfect place to get away and completely power down. No internet, no cellphone, no TV. The property was cozy, clean, very well insulated and comfortable. We sent in the middle of winter. There was a really nice wood burning fireplace. The house overlooks a small pond. It was beautiful. It was less than a 2 hour drive from DC so very geographically desirable. Can't wait to go back.
Perfect cabin for relaxing, unplugging and hiking the nearby trails! The cabin has everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We loved that we could cook full meals in the kitchen and there were plenty of pots, pans and utensils. The wood indoor stove is top notch, we loved having cozy fires at night. There were some games, books and DVDs at the cabin which were great to have on hand to relax. The view of the surrounding area and stars at night are stunning. We enjoyed exploring the nearby towns and of course going to Shenandoah NP. This place is exactly what we were looking for- cozy, secluded, and romantic. The hosts were very responsive and kind, and provided great directions and instructions. We would love to come back again.
