Although the price was over $180 dollars a night, some friends and I still booked the hotel after seeing its attractive pictures and facilities. Checked in after midnight, reception was closed and we spent several minutes looking for a member of the staff who was awake. Finally found the Maitre d'Hotel, who was the most helpful and courteous of the staff, and he gave us the keys to our rooms. Room was hot- no climate control was available or it was broke. Tried to access the advertised free WiFi but there was none available. Spent a hot evening at the hotel, had to open the window to get some ventilation but along with it came the bugs. Went to the breakfast buffet which was always out of a key food item or condiment (eggs, maple syrup, pancakes, etc...). The receptionist and SOME (not all) waitresses were not very friendly and almost borderline rude. When I finally checked out, the receptionist asked me for my credit card to charge me again for my stay although I had already paid online. Lousiest service I've encountered this year so far. However, the hotel is a former castle so if you and a significant other is looking for a romantic getaway and you don't mind the bad service, the hotel's scenic interior and surroundings will not disappoint you.
