This is the kind of home I always look for when I travel, but rarely find. I like a lot of ventilation and a peaceful, picturesque location. This house checked those boxes and is definitely in my list of favorite spots where I've stayed. Staying here helped my trip feel less like just a trip and more like a vacation.

Stunning!!

This home has it all and I slept in the sunroom on the porch couch just to watch and hear the river traffic, and that was the best rest ever and can’t wait to go back. It’s got river features that come with the territory but look past that and you too will enjoy every minute here in paradise.

Wonderful stay

Riverside experience

The property was beautiful with a gorgeous view of the river. My family thoroughly enjoyed the coziness of the house and sitting on the heated sun porch to watch the river traffic.

This house was perfect for our couples trip. Everything was very clean and well equipped. Loved the hot tub, the enclosed porch and the beautiful view! I would definitely stay here again.

Amazing Host & Amazing Stay

We went for a mother daughter group trip plus some of our pups and this stay was perfect! The host was so kind and accommodating. Loved that 4-seasons room with the view. Also just sat at the end of the dock during a gorgeous day and chatted with my Mom. Reading the history about the home was fascinating as well. Thank you and thank you for sharing!

The River House

The River house is an older home but well maintained and clean. The sunporch with the river view was the highlight! The kitchen is very nice with new appliances. Overall a very good experience.

Wonderful spot for our first trip to Louisville

The house had plenty of space from our family of 4. The proximity to downtown (about 20 minutes )was perfect but still gave us the feel of being a little way from it all. There were deer running around which was a beautiful sight. The view of the river was spectacular. My husband and I spent every morning bring having our coffee on the enclosed patio . The family enjoyed the hot tub and having our own space when we needed. Would definitely recommend and stay again!

Tranquility by the river

Beautiful views . Property makes any weather condition fine. Covered patio is great if it rains and enclosed patio with air conditioning is perfect when it’s hot. Very comfortable. Would recommend this property for any family !

River view fantastic. Only issue you had toclimb stairs to get to living area. That is no problem for younger people but was difficult for us senior citizens. House was in quiet neighborhood. Deer across road. Owner very helpful

Peace on Earth

The home was really nice, clean, comfortable, welcoming. But the view was AMAZING! I sat on the sun porch all day and most of the night. We watched barges float past, and I could not take my eyes off the bridge. We had a truly peaceful time. Thank you for allowing us into your home.

Nice location on the river

We were a group of 7 family members, all above the age of 62, ranging to 87! We loved the location and the screened in porch and lower patio with hot tub, and enjoyed watching the river traffic! We lucked out with unseasonably cool weather! Kari, our host, was very responsive and came to the house to remedy the few problems that we encountered! The house is a bit old and has a very cramped and not very well stocked (in terms of cookware) kitchen, however, it worked and we were able to do a lot of cooking! Thoroughly enjoyable stay!

Amazing River Trip

We had a wonderful time. Louisville has a lot of offer. From children activites to Bourban trail. Was a great mix for a family. The property was everything we could hope for. Older chsrming home. With a lot of history. Updated with amenties and charm. The view is unmatched. Loved watching the boats and rover traffic. Kari was a wondeful host and very helpful. We would def stay again!

Absolute Bliss

I did not want to go back to reality! My partner and I had an amazing time in this small home on the water. The weather was a bit wild, but that can't be helped. I actually think it was more beautiful because we got to experience the storm all around us in the sun room but felt beyond protected. Waking up and seeing the cars on the bridge and the boats on the river were incredible with the soft patters of rain all around us. We felt so secluded and saw many animals (huge frogs, lots of deer, bunnies galore) and yet we were so close to downtown and the busy city suburbs of Louisville. We also went to Caesar's Southern Indiana and gambled a little (only 30 min drive). Kari has a beautiful place and is a very sweet person to deal with in general. I would not hesitate to rent this property again!

Great views!

Beautiful setting beside river. Feels remote but it is very close to grocery store and restaurants. Downtown Louisville was only a few minutes down scenic drive of River road. We saw tons of deer around house and in neighborhood. However, it may feel too remote for ladies traveling alone. Great view of bridge but a lot of traffic noise when outside. Lower bathroom very small. Not suitable for kids or those with stability issues due to stairs inside and out. Kitchen and outside areas could use a little TLC. An overall good place that could be great with a few tweaks.

Quiet River View

Overall things were great! The rental is slightly off the beaten path and more secluded, which for us was great. The kids saw lots of deer while walking and other animal tracks. The river views were absolutely beautiful! The deck however was not there when we arrived and after quickly connecting with the owner, it had been damaged with a storm. Although understandable this was frustrating because our kids were lookong forward to fishing the river and a large part of why we chose the rental. Kari was fantastic to work with, responsive and able to help us out! The lower bedroom is huge and we were able to use a roll away cot for our youngest to stay in that room with us. The other two rooms are small and only accomodate rhe beds in thems. The daybed and trundle is in the lower level of the house and offered a nice retreat for the 10 and 11 year olds we had with us. Lots of things near by to do with 20-30 min drives. The small town the house resides in had a near by shopping center just minutes down the road for quick store runs. Would recommend!
