"There was not really a beach to view"

"What an awful stay - everything was OK until I woke up in the small hours of the morning with bites all over my arms. I ended up sleeping width ways at the foot of the bed as I am certain that bedbugs had bitten me whilst lying on the pillows by the headboard. I complained to Debbie in the morning and she steadfastly refused to acknowledge that it could be bedbugs even though I showed here all the bites, including 2 on my neck. I visited a pharmacist in Southend Tesco on Tuesday morning and he assured me that they did look like bedbug bites and prescribed me antihistamines. My arms swelled up on Tuesday - I had been bitten approximately 26 times and I was very uncomfortable. I have used Expedia to book hotels all over the continent over the last 15 years and have not had a single complaint but this was a very unpleasant experience which I do not believe was adequately dealt with. Shame on you Hamilton House - a more sympathetic response would have negated a response such as this. "

"Clean room but had a damp smell. Went for drink in bar and must say bar man could have bedn bit happier,served beer in a strange glass, which he changed after i requested different glass, his excuse was no clean glasses ?? It wasnt busy so not sure why no clean glasses ? Reception staff lovely and polite"

"My go to hotel whenever I go see a show in Southend! Always a pleasant stay and the staff are always lovely and helpful. "

"The penthouse was extremely clean upon arrival, we had a small issue at check in but the host answered promptly and we were able to inside the property with no further problems. The kitchen was stocked as described but not for 6, 3 tea cups, 4 glasses etc. overall the penthouse was comfortable and provided everything needed. It in a central area where access to public transport was easy. Noise at night is a problem this property it is situated in the central town area across from a bar or two and you can hear patrons leaving thought-out the night. Car parking is not onsite at the property its in a public car par where you have paid for parking 8am-6pm at 1.10 an hour that can add up quickly and was disappointing not to be called out in the property profile. "

"At the arrival there was a condom wrapper on the steps. We opened the front door and the smell hit us. Flat looked uncleaned; bathroom had stains on the floor and walls. Cobwebs in every room, stains on the walls. Problem with drain in the shower and the smell was terrible. Sofa needs adjusting as the arm rest loose. Carpet dirty, fan in the bedroom didn’t work. Fridge smelt and had brown stains on the glass shelves. Not what I expected nor paid for."

"Apartment was clean and exactly as stated in the advertisement! Only issue we encountered was the front door being locked and on latch at 2am… However the property manager responded within 10 minutes even at 2am in the morning. Excellent service!"
