Gem of a Find

This has to be the best find in Long Beach! The rooms are clean the grounds are nicely manicured, and the young couple that runs the place, so professional and very sweet and accommodating. This will be the place. My best friend stays when he comes into town.

Loved The property love the staff. However, the property manager/owner is inappropriate and rude. But The family who runs the place and live in office they are wonderful.

Everything about Signal Hill Motel is fine except for the cockroaches inside the room. I have stayed there previously and did not experience that.

There is noisy traffic on the busy Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) until late into the evening. The walls are thin so you hear into the next room. It's roomy and the bed is comfortable. I could not figure out how to change channels on the remote I was handed when I checked in. It should have been a no-brainer.

Leftover cloths from the previous guest, plumbing issues in the sink, unclean bathroom floor, amenities were beat and some furniture was chipped and broken. The shower was running upon check in. I had low expectations and it was still pretty rough.

It was a rainy evening, the shower did not work. The bath tub drain could not be closed to take a bath. The front door did not seal and rain water came into the room over night.

Sketchy

Tv didnt work, theyve got 1 room permanently occupied by their "maintenance/cleaner" person, which was a sketchy couple looking like they do drugs. Not enough parking for every room, they have parking spit inches from the door of the hotel making you squeeze yourself out to get padt a car to/from your door. Really uncomfortable. All in all a sketchy place, rude lady at the front office which seems connected to their living quarters. It was just wierd for the $100 price. This is like a $40-60 a night kind of place l, not the $100 I paid for.

My room was filthy. Crumbs on the bedside table, microwave, fridge and table. Bed sheets smelled funky and there were several brown and green spots on the sheets that could been removed if they had washed it. Light switches were covered in something sticky. Towels that were provided smelled like feet. The towels were dark brown…probably so that stains weren’t visible. It was disgusting. Everything was just disgusting. I only lasted 3-5 mins in my room before bringing this up to the owner/employee. I saw 2 men there, both looked like fijian or from india, not sure. One was taller with short and glasses. And another man who was shorter, around 5’5-5’7 tall with longer hair, with bangs swept to the side. I spoke to the taller man. I asked him if my room was ever cleaned after the last guest and how it was incredibly dirty. He said he would get someone to clean it ASAP but I refused and said it should have been cleaned prior to my check in. I asked for a refund for at least 1 night (booked for 2 nights) which he agreed on and said to contact expedia for a refund for the 1 night as he can not do the refund here. I contacted expedia and expedia stated that the owners said no such thing about a refund, even for the 1 night. Please do not book here, sleeping in your car is much better than this. Take your $60-$100/night elsewhere.
