Fabulous location loved it would stay again.

This is our second stay here it is a fabulous location and I cannot fault it. Angel was fantastic kind and helpful if we needed anything managing the property. Always available and lovely. We highly recommend this property and location . Location next to the Malibu Pier and restaurants' you can walk to.

Perfect location

Enjoyed the direct access to the beach, proximity to the pier, walks on the beach and wild life. The sound of the waves throughout the night was the most relaxing thing!

ON the beach

Beautiful location, waves breaking under the patio. This is a great property to relax & unwind on the porch. It is an older property, but clean and comfortable. Will definitely stay here again.

Malibu on the beach!!

Great location on the beach, awesome view, close to everything!! Walk to the Malibu Pier or stroll the beach. Great place to recharge!! Everything was perfect for us. Will definitely come back!!

We adored this place!

My twin sister and I spent a relaxing weekend, listening to the waves and walking on the beach to celebrate our 50th. You can’t beat the location and the views. You can walk to restaurants or take a short drive to the Malibu Country Mart. We enjoyed the fire at night and had morning coffee on the deck and down on the beach! I would definitely stay here again!

What was perfect: Being on top of the water. Being able to walk to awesome restaurants. Drive to dume point, drive the PCH, hike Santa Monica mountain, go to a beautiful winery with views that will knock your socks off...and MORE!

Awesome oceanfront

This was our second time at this complex and this unit is amazing... The deck is huge. The location and views are spectacular. FYI: if you want your car to fit in the garage, get a very small one.

Amazing views

We loved staying at the Sea Lion! The deck was beautiful and lots of good places to eat. Just a note to bring ear plugs and eye masks if anyone is sleeping on the pull out couch as the waves are quite loud and there is no blind on the sliding door.

Location, Location, Location!

Leave your soundscape app at home. It is unnecessary! Beautiful view as well. I think having more than 2 people might be a challenge as there is only one bathroom. We were greeted upon arrival, and more than once we were checked upon to see if everything was okay. We will retutn!

Dreamy Solo Trip

I stayed in another unit of theirs a few years back with my mom, and absolutely loved the location. So I booked a solo trip for myself to unwind for a few days and that's exactly what I did. Relaxed, napped, cooked, read - all to the sounds of the waves crashing. You honestly feel like you're in an aquarium or on a cruise ship with the proximity to the sea. Not to mention such a perfect location for walking to the lagoon, the pier, and even shop at Malibu Country Mart, which was especially important for me, as I didn't have a car this trip. Will definitely return. 10/10

It's like you are on a cruise ship! The view and the sound of the ocean waves are incredible. Bed is comfortable and the size of the unit was perfect. Loved the fireplace as it was a bit chilly when there. Any issue we had (and there were very, very few) was quickly handled. Only challenges are if you have a larger size car very difficult to fit in the garage and if you like to cook bring your own knives - these did not cut well but the manager did say he would get new. We would definitely rent this unit again.

January escape

My husband and I had a wonderful time staying in Malibu and in this cute abode to close out the end of a very cold & grey January back home in the Midwest. It was just what we needed. The property managers were wonderful to work with and very responsive. The unit is outfittted with everything we needed and we appreciated how clean and fresh everything was. We felt like we were staying literally “in” an aquarium with the ocean and sealife just outside our door. We enjoyed dolphin watching every morning and watching the various sea birds. Thank you to the hosts and we have this on our “must return” to list.

Fabulous Location !

We've stayed at Sea Lion and the other VRBO properties owned by this host for over three years now. Angel the on site property manager is always super kind and helpful with any of our needs during our stay. I would absolutely recommend this place for folks who want a fabulous location and who like the ocean so close that it feels like you're sailing. Now this place is not Super Luxurious but neither is the price so I think it's very reasonable. For folks that prefer luxury and opulence the neighboring hotel has rooms starting at $900 a night :-/ This is more of a cozy cottage and it's just great. We will definitely stay here many more times.

The Sea Lion

The proximity the ocean and the terrace made up for any shortcomings if the house itself. Kitchen was clean and had all the utensils and appliances we needed. Beds we’re comfortable and clean. Small things like lamps, dvd player were old and 3 out if 4 didnt work. Towels, blankets, pillows were plentiful and clean. Malibu is crowded and there is little parking but staying at the property and enjoying the view and sound of the ocean made up for the negatives.

My Malibu balcony

Three days at Sea lion apartment A was just perfect. 10 miles as the crow flies - for a vacation never crossed my mind but oh boy this is the best - we had fog / felt chilly at first/ had amazing sunshine ( while LA was in a heatwave) all setting the mood for this place. The waves are loud and the views beautiful. This is an historic Malibu building and we think it has all the charm and nostalgia we wanted from our trip, plus a great view of the pier and queens necklace . Get up for sunrise - or an early morning walk - chairs on the sand - cook and eat on the balcony - or the pier - repeat ! Book an extra day it’s very hard to leave - the apartment is well stocked with plenty of room but it’s won’t matter too much because the large balcony will be the spot for your time here…… just watching the ocean….the beach…..the coastline …..and the sky…. You will be greeted by Angel and crew who were very helpful throughout our visit. Can’t wait to come back

Beautiful Views, Terribly Outdated Condo

While the views were gorgeous and location was perfect for walking to the pier, we were quite dissapointed with the condo itself. We paid luxury prices (500/night) and sadly this rental is very outdated. The floors are in need of replacement and were terribly scraped up and cheap vinyl peeling off (not hardwood floors as described). The tile in the bathroom floors were cracked, there were stains on the toilet, the shower tiling is falling apart and the shower head was not grouted to the wall and hanging there. All the furniture was in need of replacement, with the dining table covered in stains and scrapes, and the living room table is wicker and is so filthy you can see all the dirt and sand in the crevices. There were no curtains in the bedroom and a very bright light outside that was on all night and illuminated the entire room, so we weren't able to sleep well. The kitchen was clean, but there is no dishwasher and all the kitchen pots/pans/etc. Is well used and needs replacing. All in all, we enjoyed the views and location, but for the luxury price we paid, we were expecting a much nicer condo.

Magical!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The unit was ready, easy to access upon arrival. Angel, was wonderful - accessible, friendly and helpful. The sound of the waves was incredible and we slept better than we have in years. It was wild having the waves crashing just below the deck. We loved just sitting on the deck immersed in the ocean sites/sounds. Unit was well-stocked with kitchen items and linens. Location was amazing…steps to the shore of one of the most famous beaches in the world, and a short walk to the pier. We found some lovely sea glass and shells and experienced a few exciting up-close encounters with famous people as we strolled the beach. We enjoyed breakfast on the pier, dinner at Duke’s down the road, and accessible shopping in town. Very affordable relative to other properties that close to the beach/ocean in the area and that more than made up for the things we thought could be better. The unit needs some TLC because of the toll the salt water/air takes on things and it was challenging keeping the floors clean of sand and salt water. There were two lamps in the living room space that didn’t work - one seemed burned out and the other had a broken switch so we couldn’t turn it on. There were 1 or 2 broken window latches and the sliding door didn’t lock properly. Sometimes high tide sprayed water onto the deck and into the door. A floor mat there would be helpful. We truly loved it and we hope to return in the future.

Beach Bliss!

What a great place! Close to lots of great restaurants, Whole Foods, the Pier and shopping. If you like walking on the beach, hanging out on a roomy balcony, watching a beautiful sunset, listening to the waves crash over the rocks, this is the place to be! Clean place, helpful staff (Angel is so nice!), and easy parking! Will definitely return!
