"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Stay at Baja Motel in Oakland! I had a very nice stay at the Baja Motel in Oakland, Maryland. The room was clean, comfortable, and well kept, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Everything was easy from check-in to check-out, and the location was convenient for everything I needed while I was in the area. It’s a great place to stay if you’re looking for something comfortable, affordable, and hassle-free in Oakland. I would definitely stay here again and recommend the Baja Motel to anyone visiting the area. Thank you for a great stay!"

"The host was very accessible and responsive. The kitchen is awesome and was great for accommodating all 6 of us.We loved the separation of bedrooms on different floors which provides privacy for guests as well as 3 bathrooms. Nice large backyard with great views of lake in a very private and peaceful cove. We parked our boat right at the private dock which was very convenient. This property is close to the boat launch, restaurants and more."
Peaceful 2-bedroom cabin in charming Oakland perfect for relaxing getaway

"The cabin is beautiful, it was clean and tidy. The upstairs bedroom has 2 twin trundle beds. There is room for a family of 5-6 although the upstairs bedroom is cramped if your kids are older. The grounds are bucolic, with a trampoline and fire pit. There’s a small grill in the shed. The small porch is nice.The only issue we ran into is that the listing didn’t show there is no WiFi, so we didn’t learn that until we got the check-in email on the way. But it sounds like that was VRBO’s fault for not making it explicit. It’s not a bad way to disconnect!! But good to be aware since the cell service also can be spotty. Also there’s no cable. The TV only works with DVDs. They had a nice book of DVDs! FYI, the cabin is also a bit further away from the lake (16 min driving from downtown Oakland), so the drive to Funland for example is about 27 mins. And as the host describes, can be a bit hard to find especially at night (it’s easy to pass the driveway). Overall, I would just recommend some of the location of household items (controllers for equipment, fans/lights, under cabinet lights) be made clearer because we spent a fair amount of time looking for things/figuring things out. In addition if you want to use the washer/dryer there’s no detergent provided (from what we could see) so you’d need to bring some. But the hosts were nice and responsive when we had questions!"
Dog Friendly Cabin in the Woods, Hot Tub & Firepit

"I’d love to start off by saying thank you to the host for the great weekend. My favorite part of staying in this cabin was the beautiful nights by the fire. The atmosphere of the house along with the serine woods is amazing. The host kindly provided roasting forks along with a smores station, but that’s not the best part. SHE PROVIDES THE WOOD FOR THE FIRE! Other than the fire pit, the hot tub is so relaxing, very clearly well maintained and clean and it even overlooks the fire pit and a tranquil wooded backyard. The interior of the home is very cozy. Big bedrooms, very nice bathrooms, and a very nice vaulted ceiling over the living room. Now as stated in the description there is no A/C so it can get warm at times, but with the windows open and the fan blowing it stayed roughly 5-7 degrees cooler inside than the outside temp. Just plan your trip accordingly. There was a small issue, but the host said they were getting the problem resolved after we checked out so I don’t want to put that against her. Over all a very relaxing experience."

"The apartment is the main floor of an old home. It is located very close to downtown/historic Oakland. All the rooms are very spacious and minimalist aesthetic. It was a great base for our Garret County adventure. We were a party of 3. But a floor mattress makes it possible for a 4th. I only recommend bringing you own drinking water."
New Construction! 7 bedroom luxury lakefront home in golf neighborhood!

"Our yearly family gathering brought us to Walking on Water this year. It was absolutely a great choice. Immaculate in every way, with 7 bedrooms, 4 full baths and 2 half baths, there was plenty of room. Waterfront is perfect, an easy walk to the dock for swimming and boating. Kitchen is stocked with everything you need for cooking and dining. Dine inside at the table that seats 12, outside under the covered deck or out on the open deck. Our biggest surprise was the EV charger as it was not listed in the house description. Two of our family members drove their electric vehicles and another would have if they'd known there was a charger in the driveway. I did have to contact the host, not because of a house problem, but because a bear turned over the dumpster. They quickly responded and it was uprighted and back in action. We all agreed that Walking on Water surpasses all of the homes we've stayed in."

"House was clean, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. The beds were comfortable and all necessary items were readily available. The hot tub was awesome too! The host was excellent at communicating and all information was provided in a timely manner. It was an absolutely wonderful stay and I highly recommend."

"House was clean when we arrived. Kitchen was well stocked with needed cooking items. Bathrooms were a bit on the small side, but worked well for our group of 6 adults. The lake access was perfect for what our family wanted. House could use a bit of TLC on the outside. We enjoyed seeing the local wildlife. House is close enough to stores and other area activities without needing to drive too far. The street is very quiet and passers-by were friendly. Provided linens were adequate and having access to washer and dryer was a nice accommodation. This was our first trip to Deep Creek and we were pleased with our first experience. This house is great for teenagers and adults."
