"Bosworth Hall Hotel – A Three Night Adventure Bosworth Hall advertises itself as an elegant luxury spa hotel. In reality, it felt more like an episode of a budget hotel rescue show filmed in a stately home. To be fair, first impressions were promising. The building itself looks lovely from the outside and the grounds are well kept. We arrived optimistic, bags packed, ready for a relaxing half-board spa break. That optimism lasted right up until we were handed room number 229 and sent off with instructions vague enough to qualify for a treasure hunt. After wandering the endless corridors for half an hour like contestants in The Crystal Maze, we finally located our room. Calling it “compact” would be generous. It was somewhere between a single room and a storage cupboard. Very dated, very tired, and accompanied by a mysterious smell that suggested something had died behind the radiator sometime around 1997. Thankfully, after complaining, we were moved to another room which was larger and clearly an upgrade, so credit where it’s due. The hotel boasts two restaurants. What they don’t mention is that one only exists at weekends. Since we arrived midweek, our “fine dining” experience became a self-service canteen with all the ambience of a motorway service station. No table service, staff looking like they’d just finished PE, and food that was technically edible but had the charm of school dinners.
