Good location and friendly staff!
The staff were so so friendly, nothing was too much to ask! Felt very safe here and close to the city centre without it being too busy! Definitely stay again and recommend!

Good value for the money - great location
My room had had a dripping shower and the basin was a little smudgy. I told this to the reception and I was given a new room right away. Thank you for a quick response.

Just diabolical! Room was filthy bathroom was moldy spent the day itchy after sleeping in the bed!

Good hotel for an overnight stay
Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and had tea/coffee facilities. Breakfast was limited but staff offered gluten free options. Hotel was conveniently close to the train station, and access to the city.

Stayed here for 1 night as on work trip. It was pleasant, clean and good size double room with en-suite shower room good stuff size. I would stay here if I revisit London.

Whilst Dockside Hotel is not the most salubrious, it is a functional, accessible hotel. Rooms were presentable, if a little shabby and in need or some redecoration. Rooms are not big. But if you just need a reasonably comfortable for the night (or two), this should suffice for most. [Booked for London Marathon weekend]

You get what you pay for.
We had read some of the reviews for this hotel and had mixed feelings as some raved and some ranted about all aspects of the hotel. When we arrived we found the front of the building to be in good condition. We had no issues with booking in with the hotel staff and found all members of staff to be pleasant, helpful and polite. This included staff members that have been highlighted as not so helpful by other reviews of this hotel. Our room was clean and tidy with everything you would expect. Tea, coffee, milk, kettle and Freeview digital tv. The on suite bathroom was clean and fully functional with the fittings showing a little age related marks. We found the facilities within the room to be of the quality you should expect for a hotel with a lower end price point. The breakfast was of good quality and ranged from cooked to continental. We left every morning with a full stomach. A corner of the breakfast room is given over to a lounge area with tv and sofas if you have spare time on your hands. I have read reviews that state the smoke alarms are not seen and rooms smell of stale smoke. We never smelt any odes at all, not even when breakfast was being prepared just below our ground floor room. The fire alarm system looks new and in good working order. We left after our three night stay very happy with all aspects of this hotel and its staff. We would have no issue using this hotel again next time we stay in London.

Dirty.
Room stank of cigarette smoke, dirty handprints over the wall. Decent room size, bed was slightly uncomfortable but I can sleep on anything.

Cheap place to stay close to central London. It was perfectly fine, quite a tiny room but staff friendly enough. Not cheap cheap, but cheap place to stay considering London prices and it was quite close to public transport

Clean comfortable bed. Lovely crisp white linen. Kettle need de scaling. Bathroom tiles on floor cracked. Bathroom shower missing a knob that can easily turn shower on. On my had s piece of plastic to use had to report as we thought shower was broken.

Very hard beds in tiny rooms.
The mattress was hard with metal wire. After traveling for 2 months this was the worst and hardest bed I tried to sleep on.

Awful
Awful hotel. Unclean, with tired and dated decor. I genuinely do not know how this hotel has so many good reviews. My wife and I arrived late (the only redeeming feature I thought at the time was the fact that the reception was manned. I later found out that he was both useless and helpless) and we stayed for less than half an hour before leaving, it was so bad. I have worked in more hospitable and cleaner direct access hostels - they even have larger rooms.

All the staff were friendly. however there was no breakfast no lounge area ads advertised. the room was small dated and small. taps were filthy, no toilet seat. bedding was clean and bed was comfortable, the price was very cheap so.... transport links were good to get out if the area which felt rundown and unsafe.

Fairly modern, comfy and cosy inside. Also very clean! Not the prettiest on the outside but a genuine effort made inside. 24hr access and train station nearby was very helpful

Get what you pay for... never again
Not expecting the world for such a cheap price, but the place was dirty and smelled. The shower was either kettle-boiled hot, or even hotter. Not great on the soap front either. There was old uneaten food in the desk drawer. Generally felt like it hadn’t been cleaned for a while

The hotel itself was great. Loved the Rainforest shower and the quirky decor. It was also very well located for getting in to London for sight seeing. Bus stop right at the end of the street. However websites need to be updated that let guests know there is no breakfast due to Covid related changes. It is misleading to pay one price and then to arrive to be told that the full price you paid now does not include Breakfast.

During the booking was promised free breakfast however when we arrived they informed us that "they were out of staff and there would be no breakfast". The TV was not working. In summary I do not recommend staying at this hotel

Good hotel as lower priced option
The hotel is conveniently close to Shadwell DLR station and is priced quite low so is ideal if you are looking for somewhere to get your head down with local links. I had booked a small single room, which was exactly what I got with the additional bonus of an en-suite that you don’t generally get with this price bracket. The room would probably benefit a deep clean but was sufficiently clean enough for my benefit. The staff at the hotel were friendly and breakfast was included in the cost, served from 7.30am which included a large variety of items including hot and cold options. Overall, it was okay - not for holidays but fine for overnighters.

Value for money a bit out of town
Value for money hotel with friendly staff. The neighbourhood is anything but exiting but the streets are quiet at night and an Underground/DLR station next door makes it easy to reach downtown.

Dockside Hotel - OK for the price
The hotel is basic, the decor and furnishings are quite shabby and the local area isn't great. On the plus side, it's very convenient for Shadwell DLR, cheap to stay, staff were friendly and breakfast was good (fresh melon as well as the usual cereal and toast etc). Overall OK for somewhere to crash overnight if you are on a budget.

Nice place if you to stay for a couple of days. The room it was clean no very big but enough for 2 days. Breakfast it was so nice, lovely with different choices. Very very close to the underground station. Staff friendly and gentle. Also available complimentary water at the reception. I will back there if I will go again to London.
