This is my second stay at this cabin. If you want a remote place surrounded by nature, this is it. The small goats grazing nearby add to the serenity of the experience. There is a very unique swimming pool for those that come during warmer weather as well. I highly recommend staying here.
Everything about the stay was lovely - the location, the property, the cabin, the backyard and especially the hosts. Beth is a wonderful person and we really enjoyed the tour she gave of the property - highly recommend asking for a tour !
It was an incredible stay in a peaceful, beautiful part of Texas. The hiking offered around the property was gorgeous with views of the surrounding terrain. We were warm after our hike so we swam in the pool, it was very clean and perfect temperature to help cool us down. The free roaming animals were sweet and beautiful, they greeted us shortly after arrival! The back porch was lovely for breakfast or coffee in the mornings. We mainly cooked outside on the grill and enjoyed a fire one night. It stormed while we were there but the cabin was spacious and the sound of the rain on the roof was like a soundscape. We would love to stay here again for longer.
Everything was just as described. It’s a beautiful place with a LOT of history! I highly recommend you ask Beth to share the story with you. She is an excellent host!!
The host, cabin, stars at night, horses and goats coming to greet us…..doesn’t get any better than that! Beth is so knowledgeable about the land, we thoroughly enjoyed our tour! It was so peaceful and relaxing! Will definitely come again!
We had an awesome time at this location. Being able to interact with the free roaming animals was amazing. House was clean and we had everything we needed. Only issue was how far we were from stores be aware of the 25 minute drive to a grocery store.
My husband and I came here for a long weekend getaway with our two dogs. We had the absolute best time!! The cabin was lovely and the land was fun to explore and the farm animals were so fun to watch and pet. We went golfing and to the Colorado bend state park, as well as staying at the cabin and enjoying the patio. Lovely place! Beth and Tom are some of the nicest people too. We really hope to come back.
My granddaughter took over the loft, and renamed it the "princess loft". She was terrified by the goats at first, then was hugging and petting them in less than 12 hrs. We hiked in Colorado Bend State Park and loved the water falls at both ends. Having no phone or internet was just perfect.
We were able to relax and enjoy ourselves. The goats we just loved. Me and my Fiancé love nature and animals. I had a few people request information about this place. They even said how peaceful and relaxing it looks when i posted pictures on FB. Everything was perfect and Beth was as sweet as can be.
My husband and I were looking for a place where we could get away from the city, relax, and stargaze for a couple of days. This place was perfect! There is no TV or internet (our phones still worked fine) which was an added blessing for us. The cistern pool and the horses and goats were the icing on the cake! Oh, and did I mention the stars at night ARE big and bright when you leave the city lights? Just wow! I hope we can come back to this little secluded cabin again!
This is our second time staying on this property we loved it so much we had to come back! The goats are precious & my absolute favorite! It was myself, my husband, 4 yr old & 15 yr sons & a family friend. Everything about the property, it’s history, animals, cozy cabin even ALL the toys for our little was amazing! Beth was attentive our first stay 6 yrs ago & even more so this trip! Thanks again Mrs Beth, be blessed!
My family and I stayed here for a quick weekend get away. It was the perfect way to get the kids exploring and experiencing all that nature has to offer. The creek was flowing which made for great exploring. The pool cooled us off after walking around with goats and horses. My kiddos could not have been more in love than they were with the baby goats on the property. The cottage was perfect for our family of five and had all the necessities. Thank you, Miss Beth, for a fabulous weekend.
Great for a short remote getaway. Cozy comfortable cabin with full shaded porch, grills and firepit, fun local fauna (goats and horses), very responsive and accommodating host, and your own pool a short hike away.
This is a great dark sky location for a quiet getaway. It is a very nice down to earth cabin. Just the amenities you need, you feel like you are in the countryside.
We loved our stay! The cabin was so private in the middle of a beautiful pasture with goats and horses! It was convenient to Colorado Bend State Park where we spent the day hiking! A beautiful back porch to sit and watch the wildlife!
