"Older hotel but the quirks was the beauty of it all. Staff were very friendly. Room was dated, but clean and ideal. I would certainly stay here and recommend this hotel. Absolute fantastic stay."

"Really good stay - excellent hotel and evening meal very good in the restaurant. Very well positioned on the island for exploring everywhere and only a 5 min drive from the ferry terminal. Room was really spacious, excellent shower, comfortable beds. The only tiny downside was hotels.com had taken our money for the stay weeks before but had not transferred it to the hotel so the hotel wanted to charge us on arrival - thankfully my credit card account showed that we had paid you. They kindly gave us complimentary drinks to apologise for the prolonged checking in which was a nice touch. We would happily stay here again. "

"The staff at the Great Western went above and beyond to make my stay memorable. Ami at the front desk is a gem. Leaving the hotel and Oban was so hard because it felt like like I was leaving family. There were tears. Is it possible to feel homesickness for a place in which you’ve never lived? Can’t wait to go back someday. "

"The manager and chef were phenomenal! Book dinner reservations far in advance. Best breakfast in Scotland! The rooms are each unique and lovely. Can't recommend it enough. If you're in Oban, stay here."
