"We were only able to stay one night, but our night at the Vallombrosa vineyard was very peaceful. The hosts were very helpful and kind and were gracious to bring me some emergency supplies. Although the property lies in a beautiful setting, it’s important to note that it takes at least 30 minutes to get to Lugano and the lake by car. "The room was clean, service friendly and helpful, the restaurant food was very good. Unfortunately, we were there during a heat wave, and the AC in the room was old and unable to cool the room down to a comfortable level. Also, the ceiling lights did not work at all."

"We were graded when we arrived and all the amenities were explained the hostess walked us to us our room and showed us all the features of the room. The room was clean pretty and the air conditioner worked great. Breakfast was marvelous, and staff was very responsive. Location was right by the train station, which was great as well as by the lake even better."

"The rooms were very clean and stylishly decorated. It reminded me of a luxury hotel from the 1980s. With one exception, the staff was very friendly and attentive. The breakfast was quite good and plentiful. I wouldn’t have dinner there again. It was good, but way too expensive—as if it were Michelin-starred cuisine. All in all, the atmosphere at dinner was far too stuffy for my liking. Ascona and the surrounding area have many fantastic restaurants, and they’re all worth visiting. Overall, we found the hospitality to be excellent, and we’ll definitely stay at this hotel again on our next visit."
