We were looked after by Armie during our stay. Very helpful and friendly. We hired the electric bikes for the afternoon and did the Palace, Castle and Town. The room and breakfast were great. Thank you.
This place is great and the staff is the nicest I've ever met at any hotel. If you read this Armie, we want to thank you for all you did to make our holiday perfect!
If you ever go to Sintra, I highly recommend this hotel!
The property was beautiful, clean and quiet. Our room was comfortable and the food was delicious and plentiful. Armie was amazing - helpful, attentive and a great hostess - loved that she remembered our names and our affinity for the dogs.
Our host Armie made our stay pleasant, she was very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was great! The apartment was spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. The location was within walking distance to Historic Sintra and tourist sites. Parking on site made our stay worth it. We loved this place.
Wonderful place to stay during a visit to Sintra.Everyone is warm and welcoming, specially Armie. She made the Best dinners in town, everything was fresh and eating on the patio in the woods could not be better! Rented the separate house and slept like a baby from the fresh air and quiet surroundings. Closer to the main attractions than staying in town, because you are out in the park that has all the castles. Sintra transportation logistics are difficult, because of the amount of visitors and small/old/hilly one-way roads, so plan ahead based on your preferences. I enjoyed walking/hiking, but sometimes needed an Uber or Bolt. The gardens and surrounding woods feel magical. Hope to stay again in the future.
Beautiful secluded spot with palace views. Private path into town was very scenic with a 20-30min walk but nice and steep on the walk back. Amazing host and dinner.
We had the most wonderful time! We were instantly greeted as if we were family and Armie treated us to a beautiful private dinner with music and homemade food. Absolutely loved it!
Great staff and location, very nice breakfast.
Our room was the main drawback - WiFi and a/c temperamental. Avoid booking small double in main house and book in new wing instead
This place was perfect! The location was wonderful. The bus stop to two castles were right in front of the house and a path into town to visit two different castles was right off the rear. The house was beautiful. The service was amazing and the breakfast was delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone that wants a beautiful and convenient stay in Sintra
This is a beautiful property outside the hustle and bustle of the town of Sintra. It helps to have a car if staying here, but Uber is an option. Breakfast is delicious and the staff are wonderful. Armie runs the place and is very friendly and efficient. She makes sure everyone has a positive experience. We are within walking distance of Pena Palace and the Moors castle. Even walking into town is only 25 minutes. You won't regret staying here!
Quinta Velha’s a gem tucked in Sintra’s hills, about a 10-minute walk from Pena Palace and the village center. It’s a small, upscale B&B on two hectares of forest, with a cool mix of old Portuguese charm and modern touches—think restored 1800s beams paired with sleek furniture. We stayed in one of the six suites, which felt cozy and private, like a boutique hideaway. The place was redone in 2019, so everything’s fresh but still has history.
The lounge is great for chilling, with a fireplace and big windows. There’s a pool out back that catches the sun, surrounded by trees, perfect for relaxing after sightseeing. Armie, the host, was awesome—super welcoming and cooked us killer breakfasts and dinners, like something you’d get at a top restaurant. It’s quiet, away from Sintra’s tourist buzz, but close enough to walk to the palaces or grab dinner in town. Go there! You’ll love it!
Our stay at Quinta Velma was absolutely unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we were swept away by the beauty of the location — peaceful, picturesque, and perfectly situated in Sintra for a romantic getaway - just down the hill from Pena Palace and the Moorish Castle. Every bit of the property is charming and inviting - with stunning surroundings and a calm, cozy atmosphere.
What truly made our experience magical, though, was the incredible hospitality. Our host Armie went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed, cared for, and special throughout our stay. Her kindness, attention to detail, and genuine warmth turned an already beautiful trip into something truly extraordinary and romantic. The food here is also amazing, breakfast and dinner. Everyone running an Air-Bnb should be striving to be this good.
Our entire experience was relaxing, and filled with little moments we’ll remember for a very long time. We left feeling refreshed, happy, and already planning our return. We cannot recommend this place highly enough for anyone looking for a romantic escape in an ideal location with exceptional hospitality.
This was a beautiful place to stay. The staff, Armie, were wonderful. The breakfast was great and the place was spotless, welcoming and comfortable. It is in a great location for seeing the palace on top of the hill and the old town a bit down the road.
This is a beautiful Quinta just a small walk outside of the historic centre of Sintra. The only blemish on our stay is the slightly unusual breakfast. It's a small buffet of meat, cheese and breads with an offering of fresh eggs made in the moment but without any other offerings of hot meats or vegetables like bacon, mushrooms ect. If I could I'd rather give this hotel a 4.5.
Also, we can't say enough about the friendly atmosphere created especially by Armie, but also the rest of the staff.
