"Comfortable double room (number 3) and enough space for two of us for 2 -3 nights. It faces the road but the noise wasn't oppressive. Breakfast is a hamper with a decent amount of continental products plus items in the fridge. It wasn't clear that these items were included in the booking and worked that out from reading previous comments. I had to contact the hotel for arrival advice and that's when I found out there was a fridge in the room. This could be made clearer on the site. Arrival is a key code to the front door then another code by the room door to access the room key. The front door is awkward to open. You turn the dial anticlockwise so your hand is turning onto the frame of the door and takes a bit of doing to open. The code should have been sent on the morning of arrival but didn't receive this until I contacted the hotel that afternoon and an hour before we arrived. A couple of hours later when we were settled into the room, I received a message through Hotels.com asking when we would be arriving. Whilst the communication can be better and the front door is a faff, the hotel is in good location, comfortable and the staff you come across are friendly."

"Some of the positive reviews are likely from week-days. NEVER go here in the weekend. Your room is above the hotel's pub that makes your stay unbearable. It is not just people having a drink, but actively partying and shouting with a dj. This place should not be listed as a hotel. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere. "

"The staff were super friendly full of knowledge regarding local are. Didnt have drinks facilities in room but did have fantastic kitchenette on top floor so don't forget to pack your teas and coffees. Lots communal areas for families with board games and books on offer as well as quiet spaces if you just needed to kick back and relax"

"Recently spent 4 nights at the Heron apartment, we so enjoyed our stay. Beautiful apartment, so clean and welcoming, fully equipped with all you need for your stay. Have to give a big mention for the welcome hamper, a lovely touch,and the shower is amazing. Situated a short distance away from all that Berwick town centre has to offer,and far enough away for a peaceful sleep. Would recommend Thistle do Nicely for breakfast, Amran Tandoori for Indian food lovers and Mavri for Turkish food. Would recommend this lovely apartment wholeheartedly, Elizabeth is a great host and nothing was too much trouble for her."

"A great location, set back off Bridge Street, so no noise from the street but all the convenience of some of the best restaurants and pubs and some great independent shops. The room was cosy and informal, with real character, and the bathroom felt luxurious. Free car parking close by meant that the lack of private parking wasn't an issue."
