Welcome to the Musical Mountain House! This vacation home is the perfect stay for exploring Virginia wine country, trips to Shenandoah National Park or a just weekend getaway relaxing in the mountainside hot tub or sitting by the fire pit. It is easily accessible to the Appalachian Trails, Shenandoah river, Shenandoah National Park, Skyline Drive, Skyline Caverns, wineries, and downtown Front Royal. This adorable vacation home is great for large groups or two families and only 1hr 20m from DC.


The Musical Mountain House is one of those properties that has something for everyone and all the right juxtapositions. Mountainside quiet where you can't hear a single highway but still with speedy wifi and grocery delivery. Vintage speakers but they hook up to your smart phone.. Room for everyone to eat together but two living rooms for two movies at a time. Impeccable and professionally designed interiors but with actually comfy couches. Outdoor space to run around as free as the neighbor's chickens but fenced in decks and yards to contain furry friends and/or toddlers. And then there's the h's: hot tub, hammock, history, hiking, hwineries.

Great stay. House is well appointed. Every room well thought out and comfortable. The large bath and shower were luxurious. Nice spacious deck and great fenced backyard which our puppy loved. Ben was very responsive and helpful, flexible with check in and checkout. Highly recommend.

Wonderful stay!

We had a wonderful stay! We traveled with family ranging from ages 11 and everyone had plenty of room to spread out and be comfortable. Beds were comfy. Lots of entertainment for the kids (games, books, tv, etc) Beautiful location. Close to where we needed to be to visit family. Check in was easy. Communication with host was great. Thanks for a great stay!

Great Christmas Getaway

Such a nice, family & pet-friendly house up in the woods, and perfect for our Christmas gathering. There was plenty of space for our group of six. We especially loved the fireplace, the comfy beds, and of course, the hot tub! Kitchen had everything we needed too and a door that goes right to the fenced portion of the yard which was super convenient! We had a great stay.

Peaceful!

Stayed a few days in this wonderfully peaceful home! Ben was very responsive and helpful with a couple of questions I had. My son and his friends LOVED the cozy basement while I enjoyed reading a book and the silence on the quiet deck. Definitely recommend staying here.

Serenity

This house was perfect for our annual girls trip! It’s beautifully decorated and located on a secluded mountain top. We liked the close proximity to the various wineries and the Shenandoah National Park. After our daytime adventures it was nice to come back and relax in the hot tub, gather on the deck or sit by the fire pit. We loved our stay at The Musical Mountain house!

Fabulous and relaxing girls weekend

Wonderful way to bring in the New Year

Our family and friends had a great time in the home! It was conveniently located to many nearby wineries, breweries, and charming towns. The house was well equipped with everything we needed. We were a group of 10 people with 2 infants and absolutely enjoyed our stay. The location is amazing, nestled in the woods with deers and birds visiting the property. The house had everything we needed from linens to towels to utensils and toiletries. The listing says 4 bedrooms, but the bunk bed area in the basement can also be considered an additonal room. Would definitely recommend this place when visiting Virginia/Shenandoah NP.

Had a bday celebration for two 11 yo girls. We ate well - Apple house - talk of the mountain - spelunkers! The hot tub was nice, beds clean and comfy and cute decor. Our kids enjoyed the bunk beds and there was room for them to all 3 sleep on the lower section. Saw a bunny, deer and a fox! Enjoyed the swing.

My brother, spouses and I had a fabulous week of celebratory sibling and spouse fun at Ben’s beautiful property enjoying the charming Shendoah valley! Gorgeously and thoughtfully decorated with so many artistic and homey choices. Comfortable, clean and full of amenities. We’d love to come back and stay at this perfect property again. Ben was super responsive and generously accommodating including our honoring our last minute request to have a friend's dog stay with us and a slightly later checkout to enjoy our last vacation breakfast before heading back to all our different home states.

Great mountain getaway

We had to be in the area for a retirement party on our anniversary weekend, so we combined the two and found this great place. The house is very well appointed, and has quality items for guest use just as you would have at home. We did not need for anything. We used the hot tub a lot, which is really saying something about cleanliness. I'm picky. We were even able to to get delivery from The Apple House(donuts are a do not miss). We found a great little Italian restaurant, Girasole to celebrate in a quaint town called The Plains. There are amazing views of mountains and the Shenandoah river around every corner.

Great Mountain Getaway!

We were visiting our son in Linden and didn’t want to stay in a hotel. Found this VRBO and it was exactly what we were looking for. Although it was very ‘remote’ with lots of unpaved roads, we could get to where we needed to be in minutes! The property was well equipped (as advertised) and had everything we wanted and more! Beautiful views, comfy beds, large furnished deck and plenty of room for family and friends. Ben was a great host and was always available and responsive to any questions/issues we had! We will definitely be back!

Tranquil Mountain Bliss: Rustic Charm, Relaxation, and Adventure

My girlfriends and I had a delightful weekend at the Tranquil Mountain House. The serene surroundings and cozy atmosphere provided the perfect backdrop for a relaxing getaway. Despite the bumpy gravel road on the way in, the secluded location added to the charm and made the experience feel like a hidden gem. The house was tastefully decorated, creating a warm and inviting space for us to unwind. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the hot tub. Our proximity to vineyards added an extra layer of enjoyment to the stay, allowing us to explore the local area and indulge in some fantastic wines. Definitely recommend checking out Crimson Lane for wine and Regions 117 for dinner. We left feeling rejuvenated and grateful for the wonderful memories created in this peaceful retreat.

Beautiful Mountain Stay

My family and I decided to book this home for our Easter holiday. I am so glad that we did! We absolutely loved this home. The downstairs was perfect for our kids, just the best hangout area for them to relax and have their own space. The fenced in yard and gated deck was perfect for our pup too. It was just so picturesque, and we really enjoyed the neighbor's chickens and herd of deer that'd visit daily. The house is about a 20-minute drive to Front Royal which we went to for dinner and is really close to a little place called Apple House. They have the best apple cider donuts! Thanks Ben for the recommendation! Oh, and I have to add, insta cart will deliver groceries, which was the icing on the cake. We would definitely stay here again!
