The Hotel was perfectly OK for our 5 night stay, while being the 'poor relation' of the main Holiday Inn on the marina a bit closer to the heart of town. The in house dining is pretty ordinary, the room's tea and coffee supplies very basic, and the only problem at night was noisy students (it's located amidst large University lodgings) down below in the street in the wee small hours which woke us on two nights.

Good hotel, bad building works.
Hotel is good & breakfast is great. However there is building works being carried out on the property next door. There was no mention of this on the booking site.

Convenient and breakfast included
I booked Holiday Inn Express because I’ve stayed in them before and I like the rooms and breakfast. We went Fri to Sun to attend two evening shows. The breakfast is 6-10am but if you go down during the last hour it is very busy and a lot of queuing and disorder to get breakfast. Otherwise it was a very comfortable stay and a convenient location within walking distance of our events.

Beware of Parking Charges at this hotel.
I booked this hotel through Hotels.com as a stopover while travelling north to Edinburgh as the location was ideal. The hotel is what you would expect, clean tidy and fully functional. What I didn't expect was the first words out of the Receptionist's mouth to be " have you paid for your parking? It's £8.50." When I researched this hotel on Hotels.com there was no obvious mention of any parking charge which, since it is almost 15% of the cost of the room, made the stopover at this hotel much more expensive than I had planned. Having paid and returned home I checked the Hotels.com website and found that they do mention parking charges but it is hidden in FAQs. Parking is a daily charge and therefore I believe that it should be shown up front on the main page with the details of the description of the hotel. Hopefully this review will forewarn others of the charges!

Great, comfortable hotel
Pleasantly surprised with my stay. Really comfortable roomand beds.I only had one milk sachet in my room but when i went to reception they gave me anything i needed (including toothpaste which I had forgotten). Breakfast was as excepted for a free breakfast so no complaints. Cheap and convenient parking.

Only concern- Disabled parking
All aspects relating to the Hotel were excellent Only concern is the number of Disabled parking spaces taken up by Non - Blue Badge holders - maybe not Hotel responsibility but problem should be addressed by Hotel management
