Overall an outstanding hotel. I did not have high expectations when I booked this hotel but It exceeded my expectations. I had stayed at different hotels while traveling to Peru with my family in years past but I was extremely satisfied with my stay at the Sheraton Hotel. This will definitely be the hotel I'll stay at when I visit Peru next time.

The Sheraton Lima Historic Center is an extremely nice hotel. The hospitality was above and beyond.

Even though was my first time staying on this hotel I found out that it's pretty and has a security stay on becuase your room key goes only where its your room and not running over other floors

It's the people
Very helpful and accomodating staff. We stayed 2 days, then left for 3 days to Cusco, and returned for 2 dsys more. They stored our luggage for those 3 days, and brought it to our 2nd room immediately upon arrival. Also, they found and returned my husband's phone he left in the lobby pronto.

A tale ( or stay) of 2 halves. Really comfortable beds and great linen. Wonderful blackout curtains. Room was quiet after the ‘ in house market’ finished downstairs in the evening. Check in was slow ( like Soviet era queues for no good reason) and the door fob temperamental including not working in the lift and getting stuck on top floor with no way down. A hot shower triggered the fire alarm system in the dated edifice. No tea/coffee facilities, presumably as any steam would trigger the fire system. Staff were both attentive and indifferent. The buffet was poor quality with the same potatoes served for breakfast. ‘A fur coat no xx kind of place’

This hotel needs a major renovation to be considered 5 star. The air condition in the room doesn’t work. The carpets are dingy and the restrooms are dark.

One of worst experiences we've had in a while!
The ac didn’t work in our room. A fan was brought up but the room was still much warmer than we like. The latch on our door knob didn’t turn so we piled our suitcases behind it. The second night our smoke detector alarmed @1:40am awakening us. We called the front desk and the phone rang and rang before someone picked up. She said she’d send security up to check it. The alarm went off and on again two more times but no one ever came up. We complained at the front desk in the morning and they said maintenance would be up in 20 minutes. After eating breakfast, we went back upstairs to get ready for the day. The alarm went off 2 more times. We asked to be moved to another room which they did arrange. That room’s ac worked but the fan didn’t work. The safe didn’t lock. And the sliding glass door overlooking the back of the hotel did not lock. We were very glad to be checking out the next day. Would definitely not recommend!

Decent place, comfy bed
The bed was comfortable, and it gets dark as a cave if you close the blinds, which makes it great for sleeping…most of the time. If you stay on a weekend, there may be a lot of noise from a party such as a quinciñera. The carpets were old and dirty in the hallways, and they need more lobby seating. The restaurant was nice, and the staff were very accommodating. It’s a little far from most of the tourist places.

Hotel is well decorated, the front desk and the staff in restaurant of the lobby do not seem to be proactive enough nor do I feel they were able to demonstrate basic hospitality and professionalism to guests who just arrived in this city and professionalism to be consistent with Marriot’s level

Some good parts but disappointment overall
We booked 3 nights this hotel at the end of our 3 week tour of beautiful Peru to relax before returning home. The main reasons for booking were that the hotel has a pool and the location near to the historic centre. After we had checked in we went for a wander around the hotel to find the pool and found it closed. It turns out that the pool is "seasonal" and only open for 4 months of the year, December to March. We booked through Hotels.com and "seasonal" is only mentioned hidden away at the bottom of the page. Other sites show the pool facilities in a similar way. This was extremely disappponting for us. The reception and bar staff at the hotel were all really lovely, helpful and efficient Breakfast was a disgrace. No cleared tables available when we arrived at 9am and no staff around to clear a table for us. We ended up taking place settings from one table and moving them to another to make up a table for 2 for ourselves. We had to help ourselves to coffee from the staff serving station as no one was serving coffee. There was no meat of cheese at the counter just empty serving dishes. There were no pastries left just empty serving dishes again Also there were no plates under the serving area to get your food. There was an omelette chef who was doing his best but there was a massive queue given that there was little other food available. The room was OK. Quite dated but clean and maintained (apart from an empty shower gel dispenser) We had asked for a high floor room d
