If you, like we do, have people with limited mobility because of a disability in your family and you have, like we have, year after year problems finding a decent place to spend your holidays, then we have some good news.
In August 2025, we have spent our yearly family holidays with our sons with such a disability in the Durham lodge of the Homelands resort in Fife, Scotland. The lodge had all the space you need if you have a person with a powerchair in your party, as well as ceiling hoist in the bedroom and the bathroom. The lodge was well equipped and clean.
The domain is situated in a beautiful environment, close to the water, with plenty of locations to visit and enjoy, while the lodge itself is also a good fit for some relaxing days ‘at home’.
Spending our vacation at the Durham lodge of Homelands has raised our bar with regards to expectations for our future holidays.
