"The property was kept very well groomed. The dining options were excellent. The staff were polite and always helpful. I have travelled extensively and have never encountered aggression with trying to get my future business as I did on this visit. The salesman actually commandered my luggage tags and said he would take care of it. After realizing that I was not going to buy a membership he had to chase us down to return the luggage tags which I felt were held hostage. It was not a pleasant introduction to the property. He basically wasted the first hour of my time at The Grand when an impression could have been made more positive. I belong to both Disney and Sandals and neither have been so oblivious to the fact I was on holiday and wanted to see the property not hear a salespitch. On a very positive note the fitness center is superb. The beach was not ideal due to sargassum so working out became a part of my visit. Again on leaving there was another aggressive young salesman and all this achieved was leaving me with a negative impression. There are so many positive things about the three resorts that it is sad to find this impression is one that lingers."

"Good place to stay at with kids. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Buffet had a lot of variety so many amenities to do. "

"I was disappointed with the check-in process. We arrived around 12:30 p.m., understanding that check-in is at 3:00 p.m., but after paying for incidentals, we were told a personal assistant would contact us with our room assignment—which never happened. I followed up twice and was given inaccurate wait times before ultimately having to find another staff member at 3:00 p.m. to complete check-in. Additionally, before receiving our room, we were directed to someone who claimed they would explain the resort amenities, but it turned into a high-pressure attempt to get us to attend a 90-minute sales presentation for vacation packages. This was very off-putting and not something I expect while on vacation. Although Ava is a newer resort, I noticed more wear and tear than expected. The pool was the highlight, but the food and service across the restaurants were mediocre. The one standout was housekeeping—our room was cleaned daily and very well maintained."

"The resort was amazing. All the staff were super kind and very helpful. The food was pretty good. My favorite was the Yacht Club. They had something to do every day and night! Anything we wanted/needed, all we had to do was ask."

"This is the second time being at Ocean Riviera Paradise and it did not disappoint. The staff are extremely friendly and interactive. They get to know your name and chat with you often. They are positive and create a friendly and active atmosphere. The pools, bars, karoake, bowling, shows, the gym, the basketball, tennis, baseball and of course the buffet are amazing. The ocean area is clean, transportation around the resort is easy and there continues to be so much to do and see. The rooms are amazing. We had a swim up pool and took advantage of the water in the early morning. Thank you again to all the staff for the amazing stay. First a wedding and this time a bachelor party. We'll see you again. "This hotel is very kid-friendly, and the staff was excellent throughout our stay. One of the biggest highlights was the food variety—there were plenty of options for everyone. I also really appreciated the water stations located around the property, which made it easy to stay hydrated. The kids club was a great feature and kept the kids entertained. The only downside was the beach. It’s there, but not ideal if you’re looking for waves. That said, I have to give the hotel credit. During the week we visited, there was a massive seaweed issue that affected the whole area all the way to Playa del Carmen. The first day was rough, but the hotel worked hard to manage it—they were constantly cleaning and even used a tractor to clear the beach. After that, conditions improved significantly. They also had a barrier in place, which seemed more proactive compared to other nearby hotels."

"This hotel is super clean & beautiful. It also convenient and is truly close to the airport. Their airport pick up option is 100% reliable and the driver stays in constant communication with you throughout. The hotel staffs are super kind from the front desk to the cleaners and also the restaurant staff downstairs. I’ll definitely be booking this hotel again! "
