"The location was very good especially for buses and trams. The flat was nothing special, in fact it was very poorly furnished, cheapest of furniture, no tissues, no paper towel, no cloths to wipe the counters or bathroom, two tiny containers of soap and shampoo for two people for an entire week. Give the minimum and pay the maximum. Also, asking for more money as an excuse to get access to the key box was the final straw. I will NEVER rent with Altido or Joivey again."

"Location is excellent. 1 minute walk up some stairs and you are in the Royal Mile. Hotel was well maintained, but undergoing some construction, presumably to improve the landscaping which would be nice. One of the elevators did not work for the 3 days we were there which caused a wait a couple times. Overall, if the construction was completed and the elevator was working, it would have been very good."

"In general this was a great place to stay. Right across the street from Train station, buses and tram with good options for dining nearby. The room, while small was very nice and comfortable except for the bed which was made of some kind of material that left me sweaty by the middle of the night. Weird. Also, I am a senior solo traveler and the stairs from the entrance to the reception desk where very steep and there was no alternative i.e elevator or ramp to use for accessibility when pulling a suitcase. I didn't try the breakfast but the 24 hour coffee and tea were real good quality and piping hot. It was more expensive than I wanted but the proximity to all the public travel options was a huge plus for me. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I would stay there again"

"Great location and comfortable hotel. The staff was very helpful. We didn't do the breakfast but had a meal in the restaurant and the food was tasty and a good value for a hotel restaurant. The room was clean. The bathroom was a bit small but it was sufficient for what we needed. The location is convenient for sightseeing and shopping with lots of restaurants, coffee shops and stores nearby."

"The room was definitely dated and there were three of us in the room and housekeeping only ever left two towels. We had to ask for extra a few times and toilet paper. The best part of this property is the restaurant. Great food and nice staff although on the slow side and not too attentive to guests. Several times we had to find a waiter. It was also hopping with bus tour groups so super busy in the evening. Good for a short stay."

"The biggest issue was the room temperature. The room became extremely hot throughout the afternoon and evening and was very uncomfortable to stay in. We were unable to properly relax or sleep in the room due to the heat. In order to make the room even somewhat tolerable, we had to keep the windows open all night, which then brought in constant street noise, bright lights from the Grassmarket area, and late-night noise from bars and traffic below."
