Overall the house was really nice and has everything you need- but there’s definitely some updates that could be made, like the living room furniture and kitchenware

Great layout for a large group and location for skiing multiple mts. Old lumpy beds and yard sale furniture. Ripped sheets. Kitchen lacking basics. Broken plumbing fixtures.

Beautiful snowy getaway
Loved our week here - location was great (close to Alpine of course but also easy access to Tahoe City and Palisades). The hot tub surrounded by snow with the sound of the creek right behind it was a huge hit for the family. The open kitchen/dining/living was perfect for us - we cooked up many meals, played board games, and enjoyed the Tahoe vibe. The views out the many large windows was spectacular. There was SO MUCH SNOW this year and we were grateful for the driveway being plowed but this usually happened in the late afternoon so plan on digging out the driveway to get your car out of the garage if you want to get out for the day. We had issues with the water heater not working but the property management team was responsive and excellent and my understanding is that the owner is replacing it so shouldn't be an issue for future stays.

Dirty, plumbing issues, and unorganized property management
My husband and I formerly held a ski lease with Tahoe Getaways, and continue to be disappointed in working with them. They are unprofessional, disorganized, their properties are dirty, and more often than not having serious issues with their houses (in this case the plumbing). The carpets were badly stained and the bedding that was on the beds hadn’t been washed. We found blood stains as well as a crusty substance on 4/7 beds. There were no dish towels so we had to buy some from Safeway. The tub water for 2 bathrooms never ran and made a loud screeching sound when turning it on but failed to work. There was hair and dirt in the showers and on the floors. The list goes on. When we reached out to extend our stay due to the storm, I didn’t receive a response for quite some time. After letting me know they had other guests that didn’t cancel the reservation, we decided to leave Saturday instead of Sunday and I let them know via voicemail. On Sunday I received 5 separate phone calls from their team - all who clearly hadn’t spoken to each other and had completely different messages for me. Some staff said that we could stay if we were still there because they hadn’t heard from the new guests, some staff said we needed to leave, but all staff clearly hadn’t taken any notes. Incredibly unprofessional and disorganized.

House was exactly as the listing suggested. Great location with easy proximity to Tahoe City and Truckee. Nice / quiet neighborhood. Only noise came from rushing creek which we rather enjoyed.

Wedding weekend with family
Everything was good, more than one towel per person would have been appreciated. Area near the hot tub was over grown but the rest of the place was very specious.

Property management could be a lot better
1. Both trash bins were full and spilling over upon our arrival. As the garbage collection was still a few days away and this is bear country, we decided to load the disgusting trash into our car to take them to the disposal site, only to find that the one given in the instructions was no longer taking trash, therefore we had to drive farther away to the one at Cabin Creek. To be fair, the property management responded the next day to say they would take care of it and that it was not their usual practice, but it was not an ideal way to spend our vacation time. 2. The kitchen faucet broke off. On this incident, the property management did find a plumber to come out on a Sunday and fix it. Kudos to them. 3. Many amenities were not in working condition: the master bedroom's door handle fell off, the door to the backyard had no lock, a few drawers had no handles, the kid pool table leg was broken (they did put a warning sign though), many of the window/door screens are either broken or missing, so many bugs got into the house. And we couldn't open the windows even when it was very hot at night. 4. The bathrooms are very outdated. Despite all this, our family still had a good time in Tahoe at this cabin. But considering the nightly rate we paid for this, we would have expected the property management to be more on top of things. On the surface, the house looked great. But once you start looking at the details, there are lots of issues. They need to work on maintaining the property.
