"Room was clean and comfortable but no maid service given between nights. Walking distance to Lake Isabella with a view from window. Remote-off-site check-in at nearby Barewood Motel after 3pm. Friendly staff. Comfortable room and bed, AC & paddle fan on ceiling kept it cool in very hot weather. Good TV choices. No breakfast provided other than coffee, so bring food, beverages, snacks or stop at a store on the way and use fridge and microwave. Restaurants 5 minute drive away in Kernville. No pool. Free parking. Quiet. I'd stay there again."

"The best thing about this rustic little lodge is the location! You have a private beach on the Kern River right outside the room! The owners are super chill and friendly! The AC was working its ass off to keep us cool on 95+ days but boy was it LOUD!! We literally had to go get earplugs😆 All in all, a lovely little family owned lodge for all of your Kernville adventures."

"The home was very organized, clean. Impressive, well, decorated. Comfortable great for entertaining. The Family enjoyed the games and roku tv. Our grandparents came from Wofford Heights for dinner and also enjoyed the home. We hope to stay again."

"Second time staying at this beautiful home! My friend booked it last July, we loved it so much we had to come back this year. I absolutely love the beautiful views throughout the house.The place was perfect for our group of 10—nice, clean, and comfortable. We had such a wonderful stay and are already looking forward to booking again next July! Thank you so much for letting us stay in your beautiful home!"

"we liked the location as it had easy access to the river. The place was quiet. The room was clean and comfortable. The parking was easy and nice. We didn't interact with the staff much, but those that we did interact with were pleasant. Our only criticism was as regards the kitchen. The electric stove top had only one working burner. The refrigerator was not set properly and thus many of our food items froze. But, when set properly it worked fine. So check refrigerator settings when putting ones food in. The lighting in the kitchen area is poor as the light source is kind of behind the area of operations. Note though, we did not bring this to the management's attention during our visit. But, in our defense, we expected everything to be operational when we arrived. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would probably stay again."

"Very nice property, we enjoyed our stay. I gave 4 stars because check-in communication was a bit challenging. We were coming off a grand tour and has stayed in multiple homes, and were coming through areas with little to no service. I was up front about this and was unable to get an address/check in instructions until a few hours before check-in. Every other rental we had on the trip provided address and check in instructions at least 2-3 days prior to arrival. Again, overall nice stay, but we did end up rinsing feet because the floors turned socks/soles black. Our son really enjoyed the bunk bed and the kitchen and design is lovely."
