About this property

The Goat House | Modern Forest Retreat in the Cowichan Valley.

  • Welcome to The Goat House. Located in the Cowichan Valley, and inspired by the goats who live nearby, this one-bedroom retreat offers clean architectural lines, modern and comfortable design, indoor–outdoor living, and total privacy. Inside, you’ll find a custom kitchen, a king-size bed with crisp linens, and a calm, pared-back interior. The bathroom is a standout, entirely custom, with a spacious walk-in shower and a design that feels like a private spa. Large bifold doors in both the living area and bedroom open completely onto the deck. Heated floors run throughout, and a gas fireplace for cooler days and nights. We’ve also added small touches to make your stay feel special, including FRAMA bath products, Tofino Towel robes, and books and games to unwind with. Step outside to a large private deck designed for slow mornings and long evenings. There’s a firepit, comfortable Adirondack chairs, and plenty of space to take in the quiet of the surrounding landscape. Though it feels worlds away, the Goat House is just 15 minutes from Lake Cowichan and Duncan. Surrounded by wineries, hikes, river spots, and farm stands, you're just a short 5-minute walk from the Cowichan Valley Trail. If you’re searching for a unique, peaceful (and pet-friendly!) stay on Vancouver Island, you’ve found it.
