3 generations family stay
Our second time staying, returning after 9 years and this time with parents and our 1 year old. Still a wonderful hotel, service is very friendly and helpful, the location is incredible as are the views. Breakfast was lovely and a very good selection, evening meals were also very good and wines to match. Only slight issue was the air conditioning in the rooms was not very effective. Overall highly recommended and would be very happy to return again in the future.

A lovely winery with freindly staff set in incredible countryside of Rioja. The room was large and clean and had a wonderful view, and the grounds were excellent to walk around. Far above its one star status, having a drink on the terrace outside as the sun sets is incredible.

Best hotel in Rioja...no kidding!
The best place to live the real RIOJA experience! Spectacular views, great value for money (it includes a great breakfast, minibar in the room & winery tour with tasting)! You just can’t ask for anything else! We have been in the area many times as we work in the wine industry and have never seen anything like thi!! TOP TOP TOP!

The only two things I didn’t like was that the refrigerator in the room was hot and the safe did not open. We asked for these two items to be fixed but they were never fixed and the items in the refrigerator were hot. They offered items at the reception desk but we thought it was inconvenient.

Absolutely marvelous in every way. The Hotel and it's staff very nice. The grounds and vineyard amazing and the wine tour was good. Only two minimal things I would have liked different, they have two restaurants but both have a closed very limited menu and secondly the "bar/cocktail/hangout" area was lacking. These two minor flaws in no way detract from the charm and loveliness of this hotel. I would definately go back in a heartbeat.

The place is located in a beautiful location with amazing scenery. Inside, it was very modern and comfortable. The staff was friendly and the visit to the caves and tasting was an outstanding experience.

Superb hotel. Excellent value for money, particularly due to all the extra treats that they throw in! The rooms are very comfortable and well appointed. The views are stunning, with endless vineyards. We ate one night and the food was amazing. Also fantastic breakfast with fantastic views. Would definitely stay again.

Grand scale hotel and wine production
A very dramatic and awe inspiring hotel and location. Bit disappointed that dinner was fully booked the night of our stay so advise booking restaurant ahead as well as your reservation. But alternative local restaurant was excellent and we were ferried to and from by the waiter! Wine v good. Tour was a bit long and only 3 wines sampled but that said an impressive set up

Wonderful stay!
We loved our stay. We especially liked that the receptionist asked us if we would like a ride back and forth to a restaurant in Laguardia. We took her up on her offer. We had a wonderful evening at Dona Blanca. Our driver was also our waitress. What a nice evening. We also loved our room and breakfast.

We were not able to get a reservation for dinner....but the front desk hooked us up with a great restaurant in town that actually came and picked us up and dropped us off. And the dinner was delicious. Views for breakfast at the hotel were awesome as well.

An excellent hotel in heart of beautiful La Rioja
Our room was spacious, modern, clean with a wonderful comfortable bed. The shower was a modern spa shower with seat. The views over the surrounding vineyards were breathtaking. We had a set evening meal which was of exceptional high standard. The breakfast of fruit, pastries, hams, cheese etc and scrambles eggs if required was excellent and taken in the dining room with its incredible views. We stayed here last year and are already planning to stay next year.

A lovely hotel.
This is a lovely hotelwith beautiful views. The staff were very helpful. The only complaint, there was very limited lounge area. We were a group of 7 and on one occasion we were not able to sit together in the evening.

Amazing experience
This hotel in la Rioja is one of a kind. The property is beautiful, rooms were super clean and comfortable, and the location was perfect. The winery tour that is included was awesome. The staff was very helpful. Would suggest making reservation for dinner as the dinner was outstanding. You do need a car to get round the region but it is well worth the trip.

Great escape
The room was quite modern - perhaps a little too modern for us since the bathroom door was transparent glass giving no privacy to someone sitting on the toilet. But the room was comfortable - with a great view of the spectacular countryside. Like being on a cruise ship. In May, the AC wasn't yet on, so the window had to stay open. In came the bugs and the voices of those on their balconies. Nonetheless, it was a delightful and very special place.

The best hotel that we have stayed in during our 2 week drive around northern Spain. The food was outstanding. It's a set menu each evening, always different but there isn't a choice. It is sensationally good though for the €30 per person price. 4 courses, a bottle of wine and water. Room was stunning. Very large (standard) stunning views of the vineyards all the way to snow capped mountains in the distance. The bathroom had 2 sinks and an amazing waterfall or 4 way jet shower In with the price you get a free tour of the wine cellar and a free tasting. Plenty of things to see and do within a short drive. Superb!!!!

Incredible hotel
Me and my wife loved the hotel. Room is clean and have an incredible view to the winery. You can even see the wine barrels from the elevator window. Interesting wine tour. I recommend it. And 2 minutes by car from Laguardia and close to many bodegas.

We were pleasantly surprised what a nice place this was! Our room was great! With beautiful views of the vineyards. Our bathroom had two sinks. Bed could have had a better mattress. Breakfast was great with a variety of items to choose from and eggs made to order. Quiet surroundings. We really enjoyed our stay and at a phenomenal price!

Excellent hotel but restaurant fully booked!!!
This was a really good hotel with excellent rooms and beautiful views over the vineyards. The staff were very helpful and polite. It was situated aout 2 kilometres outside Laguardia - too far to walk to the restaurants there. On arrival we tried to book for dinner both nights of our stay. We were so disappointed to find the restaurant fully booked both nights by a Dutch wine tour party staying at the hotel. We had so looked forward to the dinner with the accompanying wine and food talk as part of the experience of staying in La Roja. The hotel suggested a restaurant in Laguardia that offered a car service. We took this as an option on the first night. The food was good but expensive. On the second day we had a good lunch in Laguardia and got back at 4pm for the free wine tasting at the hotel vineyard only to find that there had been cancellations by some of the wine tour for dinner that night and there were now places available! Unfortunately we were too full to eat another large meal. We loved the hotel but feel that it is important they should be able to offer dinner to all guests as this is part of the experience of staying at this hotel.

Such a lovely experience. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delightful - a very pleasant surprise and be fuelled for the day before visiting bodegas! The winery tour was nice and the dinner is a must try! Michelin starred chef and only 30€ a head for what seemed like about 74 courses! Haha.

Wow hotel, great find
This hotel is amazing; huge beautiful property. Located right at the winery rooms are big, comfortable, modern amenities and decor, great location & free group tour of winery included in stay. Winery is pretty & the elevator u take to your room is glass, allowing you to see the huge barrel room; cool design. My disappointment was with service. Staff is pleasant but not outstanding. They do the basic & offer nothing else so a bit cold. My personal opinion is it is training & language. All desk staff could communicate in English but maybe because they are not comfortable communicating in English didn't provide a proper overview of property, amenities, wine tours or even ask if we knew of the wine brand, I guess they just were not as welcoming but don't let that deter you from this places it is a great value & I have no idea how a place of this standard is rated as a 1 star & not a 4, it has amenities & I would compare it to a Westin hotel room & aloft service stay. Parking is free & Internet is available In room. Laguardia is a pretty town about a 5minute drive from hotel & has plenty of restaurants for dinner but hotel also has a good restaurant but dinner is a set menu.

Really enjoyed a peaceful stay in this hotel. The room was very comfortable with a breathtaking view. The village of Laguardia was a very nice surprise with gorgeous little historical streets and lots of excellent restaurants.

Honeymooner!
We stayed here as part of our honeymoon trip of the north of Spain. Lovely hotel in the La Rioja region. Great for wine lovers! Incredible views and lots of places to explore and learn about the Ugarte's family history within the hotel's grounds. No bar, or drink options other than wine, part of the regions charm - I guess! A little disapointing when you have been driving for hours in the heat and could go a nice cool beer! Great food & shower facilities - is like your own sauna! Wifi signal is good too, which is a bonus if u r like me and take it for granted! Highly recommend.

Enjoed the stay very much. Rooms were very comfortable. Enjoyed the tour of the facility that came with room. Breakfast was very good. The only advice I wpuld give is for the reception desk personnel to be a bit more personable. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone traveling in the area.

Stop over in Laguardia perfect hotel .
Two night stop over from San Sebastián travelling to Madrid. Hotel great location for road trip with a car. Accessible to the wine region and very close 8 minute drive to town of Laguardia. highly recommend a stay here as a base to explore the area. Great comfort, daily buffet breakfast, added wine tour was provided for our stay a must see. We only had two nights would definitely recommend more time in this area of Spain.
