Authentic mountain getaway! Perfect for families, girls' trip, or couple's getaway. Come enjoy this cozy mountain retreat, complete with wood burning stove and open loft. New hosts have replaced carpets and beds.

Located just off Highway 12 (Scenic Highway) in the beautiful town of Cuchara. 3 miles South of town. Winter activities include sledding and snow shoeing at the old Cuchara Mountain ski area. Near Dykes trail, Blue/Bear Lakes. 2 Pet maximum. Winter winds can be expected at times.
The space
Full kitchen ready for you to prepare your own meals if desired. Main floor has a King bed in bedroom number one, bunk beds for kids in bedroom number two. Dining area and living room open to kitchen for all to enjoy. Loft overlooking the living area and has two full size beds. Lower lever has a sitting area to enjoy coffee, bedroom with Queen size bed, bathroom with jacuzzi tub and washer/dryer. Walkout basement is bonus for entry and exit. All bedding is changed with every guest including quilt, blankets and sheets. Clean and sanitized.

Anniversary Weekend
My wife and I were celebrating our first anniversary and chose this place. It was so awesome! Our host set out a romantic table setting with wine and a welcoming loaf of bread and jam. This is a truly special place and our host went out of their way to make it such a special experience. I highly recommend this place for groups of friends, families, or couples to get out in the woods and enjoy the peace and quiet of mountains. Close to the Cuchara Mountain Park for outdoor activities such as hiking and disc golf. And it is just a short drive to Cuchara Village and La Veta. We will definitely be back!

Perfect all around. Amazingly nice & thoughtful host, beautifully appointed well-functioning home. Enjoyed cooking a huge meal in lovely kitchen. Close to dozens of hikes. Highly recommend.

Wonderful Get-away Home
The house was even better than expected. The hosts were thoughtful and inviting. A welcome note, fresh made bread, and sign we’re waiting for us upon arrival. Hosts were extremely accommodating with communication and needs we had. We would happily stay here again. There’s plenty of space for two families in this delightful home.
