The rooms were clean. Found some stains on the walls, the floors and in the bathroom, but that is acceptable. The staff's service was pretty below average. The front desk did not speak English very well, and even made some unsavoury comments in Japanese not expecting us to speak Japanese too. The amenities were pretty good; we made good use of the microwave there, and the coffee and water bar was great. Plus they have tons of manga, but if you don't know Japanese the selection will be VERY limited. The room was very small, but that is expected of Japan. The beds were pretty hard, but the cleanliness of the cleaning staff was commendable. They know how to make a bed very well!

We liked that it was somewhat close to all the places we wanted to visit in Kyoto. There is a bus that is only a few stops away from the main street of Kyoto. We did not like the fact that our blanket had 2 dried blood spots from a previous guest. The beds felt thin and easy to make bed noises when moving around on it.

This is a great little hotel near walkable sites. But a bit of a walk to a train station, about 15min. Clean and comfortable room but the bed was rock hard, possibly the hardest I’ve ever slept on. Also the breakfast was traditional Japanese every morning with no other options. And you could sometimes smell smoke from the smoking room at the back. I would stay again. Lovely staff.

Lovely staff, clean and comfy rooms

Lovely clean hotel with very helpful staff who were a wonderful support when helping us ship our bags overnight between Kyoto and Tokyo. Hotel also very close to metro for ease of travel elsewhere in the city and beyond.
