We had an excellent stay at Kabin Taka. The room was spacious, quiet, and very clean. Rooms in Japan are notoriously pretty small, but Kabin had enough room for a small dining table and bath made this place feel like home. Bonus points for the easy laundry room, luggage storage and fantastic coffee shop in the lobby.

Great Kyoto spot

Great quiet neighborhood of Kyoto in the old part of town. Wonderfully modern but traditional style accommodations. Friendly, helpful staff and great luggage storage.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. East and quick check in. The property is walking distance to all the nice restaurants and shops and the fun food experience in Nishiki market. Also walkable to Gion district. Bed is comfortable, nice amenities, bathroom is big. Room is very clean. I highly recommend this hotel.

Beautifully maintained and comfortable beds

Had to wait past 3pm for check in as our room was not ready for some reason, which cuts into time to plan other things. We really wanted that shower first and to change clothes. They have a luggage locker room, but that didn’t suit our needs. Otherwise the property was beautifully maintained and had a nice garden as well. Rooms were clean and staff were friendly.

Great stay, excellent location on a quiet street yet very close to main shopping area and some of the most famous sights in Kyoto. Extremely clean and well kept and a bargain compared to prices for many other hotels. Small supermarket and a very good 7-11 just around the corner. Short and easy walk to subway stations (3 different within 5-10 min) they even have a small but very decent gym and good easy storage for your luggage if arriving early or departing late. The rain shower was amazing with perfect pressure and temperature of water. Will definitely use this hotel or brand again when travelling to Kyoto and Japan.

Great little hotel near the main market area but also off the beaten path. The room was clean spacious and comfortable for me and my two teenage boys. Laundry facilities on site. My only complaints are that checkin required more personal details than I thought necessary and that there are additional "Kyoto taxes" that must be paid at checkin (even if you already paid online).
