The room was so tiny we ended up paying for ab upgrade upon arrival (worth every penny!). The staff was professional and very friendly, but the hotel was a bit dated and the washers were terrible. Fortunately, there are affordable dry cleaning services closeby. Placement is great and the larger rooms are very comfortable.

Central but quiet

It looked like it was a ways from Kyoto train station, however it was a nice walking distance. It was central to wherever we wanted to visit. The main road was so close but the street where the hotel was, was nice and quiet. The staffs were polite and kind, super helpful when I had questions. Would recommend!

Convenient hotel close to Shijo metro station and walkable to the Nishiki Market. Liked the washing machine dryer facilities available, the public microwaves and the breakfast buffet selection. Our room was a bit dirtier than expected - needed more vacuuming under the beds. Overall good value for money for the facilities provided.

Very small room. Bed against wall so one person needs to jump out of bed through front or over partner. Not enough space to open two suitcases nor where to put away clothes. Good location near subway

Post NewYear Kyoto stay

A great base for a Kyoto stay, close to good bus and train links. Close to the main shopping and market district. We were able to get a local train to Osaka for the next part of our trip from a nearby train station. This made this part of the journey relatively painfree despite us actually taking our suitcases ourselves for this hotel change. Note: you're not allowed suitcases on the buses in Kyoto.

Hotel was ok. Bed was so uncomfortable and the room was so small - bed against the wall with not much room to move. Was ackward getting in and out of the bathroom too. Room wasn't cleaned at all while we were there also. Otherwise the rest of the hotel was ok.

Big disapointment, small worn down and dirty room with no real windows. On top of it all many buildings opposite and besides either closed or ghost houses so not a nice neighborhood. Long walks to subway. Definetly not worth the price. We did change hotel not staying until end of our stay.
