The hotel had a great location and close to a lot of sightseeing locations. The room was sadly not very sanitary sadly with stains on the walls and a smell coming out of the AC and mold on the bathroom floor and the nossle of the bidet of the toilet that is dirty. if the AC wasn't on it would smell very humid and moldy. Even though all of this the room is spacious and the staff at the desk were very kind and helpful.

Was very clean and well maintained. The shower was great. The only down side was the futons that 2 of our party slept on were quite thin (in the Japanese western room).

Really nice room, perfect for 1 person for 4 nights. Central enough, buses and subways close by. 24hr convenience store right across the road. Check in isn't until 4pm but they let you leave the luggage. All good, I'd recommend

The staff were nice and fast with the check in and out(around 1-2 mins for each). They provide lots of towels and amenities by the door as well. Rooms were very clean and had everything that I needed! I would recommend if you come to Kyoto and don't want to stay in the busy Main Street. It's nice and quiet here with a mini stop 20 feet from the hotel. Also there is a really good restaurant called "Ginjo Ramen Kubota" that has amazing tsukemen. Overall great place! Loved walking down the streets from Main Street to this hotel.

Our stay at M’s Hotel Gojo Naginatagiri was okay overall. The main thing we liked was the location, as it was close to the train station, which made getting around Kyoto convenient. There was also a Mini Stop nearby, which was great for grabbing snacks, drinks, and other essentials. The hotel itself was quite small. When you enter, there is a noticeable smell of cigarette smoke because the smoking room is located just behind the reception desk. Staff were not always present at reception, but you could call them if you needed assistance. There was a laundry room, which was convenient, but it was quite small and not ideal for doing a large load. The room was our biggest concern. It felt very small and claustrophobic, and the washroom was small as well. The windows had a film on them that blocked most of the sunlight, so we didn't get much natural light. We also noticed that after taking a warm or hot shower, the air conditioner would start misting and water would drip from it for a while. The bed wasn't very comfortable and kept squeaking whenever we moved, and the pillows weren't the best either. Overall, the location near the train station was convenient, but the small spaces, lack of natural light, smoke smell, and uncomfortable bed made the stay less enjoyable for us.

This was like a boutique hotel! Very clean and comfortable. Room size was bigger than any of the other places we stayed! There is not daily cleaning but if you need anything, staff is available.

Very clean and presentable rooms, with helpful reception staff, a few of which speak English. Rooms are a little cramped but thats hardly uncommon in Japan. Surrounding neighbourhood safe and tidy. Overall highly recommended.

Slightly strange absent staff set up and obvs no breakfast or bar or shared spaces etc BUT very very central (seemed EVERYWHERE was a short bus ride away!!). What interaction we did have with the staff (5 mins at check in) was simple, efficient and polite. The inexpensive washer/dryer laundry was a godsend. The room was super neat tidy and clean. It was an excellent base shilst in Kyoto! Cheers !

The location is not too far from public transportation and the rooms are okay. The bathtub in the room was clogged and dirty when we got there and the shower didn’t work properly. The staff at the front desk weren’t helpful and were focused on their phones and ignored guests. The area itself felt unsafe compared to everywhere else I’ve been in Japan. The workers at the local convenience store were rude and laughed at foreigners just buying food and it felt like no one in this area wanted tourists. Hopefully it changes in the future.
