"We walked into the hotel at 8pm. There was a single person working the front desk. She was doing the best she could but a long line had formed. Their was a smell of smoke in the entryway. Many people were having issues with their door keys failing. Walking to our room we could tell that the carpet and wallpaper was old. Didn't see any cleaning staff or anyone else. Opened the door to our room and immediately found the smell of covered up smoke from years of smoking in the room. Layers of dust on the headboards and every lamp in the room was unplugged. The beds seemed clean, but the sheets didn't smell like they were freshly cleaned. We were all tired and I hate complaining especially for a single night stay, so we went to bed. All four of us woke up to soar throats. At morning checkout, another line had formed again, still no sight of any cleaning staff in the hallways. A single person working the front desk and nobody working the "breakfast". The breakfast consisted of VERY green bananas, some apples, and a juice machine. The coffee machine was also working but the creamers and sugars were completely empty. There was a pancake maker in the corner but it was unplugged. I went to get a cup of orange juice. The only cups were two paper coffee cups that were left. I drank my juice while waiting in line to checkout. While I waited, I saw no other staff and nobody checked the breakfast area at all to refill or clean. "

"I loved staying at this place!!! It's was extra clean and had luxury amenities. The staff was very nice and accommodating. This is a 5-Star hotel. It's a newly renovated old school-house turned into a hotel and it's in the cutest town about 20 miles away from the Gateway Arch in St Louis. I especially loved how the hotel kept the school-house theme throughout. The hallways have lockers with the names of classic books. School desks and a chalkboard serve as a notice board where you check where you're from. The room curtains were plaid like school uniforms. The room key is a composition book. The bathroom door is a chalk board. And so many more cute touches. The room has a refrigerator and microwave.They have coffee, tea, granola bars and muffins until 10:30am. There's also a restaurant on site. I don't see why anyone would give this place anything less than 5 stars. I would definitely stay here again."

"Horrible stay. Booked 3 nights and beds were hard as a rock. Bathroom is tiny and not vented. Staff was not helpful at all. Breakfast was typical but no plates. Had someone's scabs in our sheets and staff could careless. Won't ever stay at this hotel again. Not worth the money and staff was not helpful whatsoever!"

"The room was clean and spacious, but that's about the only positive. The clerk at check in seemed like I was bothering her by being there; the parking lot was sketchy. When I went to my room, the room next door had 2 folding chairs outside and an ashtray that must have had 30+ cigarette butts in it on the ground. The TV in my room didn't work, but that really didnt matter because there was no remote. The entire place was overrun with weeds and grass that desperately needed mowing. With a little care, this could be a very nice property, but no one is putting in any effort."
