Lovely room, lovely building.
Very friendly staff, lovely building. Didn't get into grounds, which look good from photos. Very nice room. Good job by myself, though, as bathroom was a shower only and my wife only likes a bath. If you have a preference, worth finding out on check in. But, all very good.

we recently spent our 50th wedding anniversary night night there it was a Sunday and after going to bed loud music till after midnight kept us awake it was an annoying boom boom, It was a wedding reception as it is apparently a marriage/reception venue which we were unaware of. However the following night the music started again and till after midnight so we just had to watch TV till it stopped. The next morning the music struck up again before 7.00am and I got up and rang reception and it was turned down. All in all we just wanted a quiet couple of day away. Looking at the photographs and the description seemed the ideal place. I must also point out that I booked the room two weeks before at £105.00 per night but in the morning at before setting off from home I looked at their web site and it was only £56.00 per night. Upon arrival I pointed this out and they upgraded us to a superior room.

Excellent hotel close to amenities
Very friendly staff especially the bar and restaurant staff. Hotel rooms very spacious and clean with all you need for your stay.Free parking and wi-fi a bonus. Would highly recommend.

Recommended for business and leisure
Nicely renovated hotel with friendly staff and a good kitchen. Sitting on the patio, in the sun, looking out over manicured lawns an mature trees was a great end to a long day.

We have stayed at Barton Hall Hotel on a number of occasions and each stay has been lovely. The food is especially good.

Night at Barton Hall
Stayed a night over to visit family and had a evening meal. Old 16 Century home refused in 2012. Rooms and accommodation are excellent, as are the spacious lovely gardens that you can sit out in and walk around. The evening mealy was equally execellent and and the service was very good as well. We also stayed for Breakfast which was a standard English Buffet, nit the same high standard as the evening meal and the brusk lady you received us as she tole us to hurry up as breakfast was finishing soon (8-10am) we arrived at 9:30am which still left plenty of time, this was a little off putting, which is the only reason it didn't get a 5.

Lovely building, aconvenient from A14 for travelle
Really good rooms ( we have stayed once before) large and comfortable, very modern, two armchairs, plenty of room for suitcases and a proper wardrobe with drawers etc, ironing board and iron in room. Bed - huge ( zipped together twins type) very comfortable. Super bathroom, large and well designed, walk-in shower. My only gripe in there being the fixed overhead shower head and the controls being a bit hard to read! But lots of lovely hot water. Everywhere extremely clean and good condition. Food was good though a bit over-fussy. Menu which lists about 6 ingredients in every dish but most are just tiny dabs of whatever to decorate the plate! My braised lamb main - I expected a slice of meat but it was a roll of shredded lamb rolled up into a tube and rolled in mixed herb dust. It tasted OK but I'd have preferred the normal texture of the meat ( the menu gave no indication of this style of presentation when I ordered). My Celeriac starter looked very pretty and the accompaniment was nice but the main part was just three cubes of some kind of creamed celeriac. Nice but not what I was expecting! My husband had smoked haddock starter - presented as a kind of soup of fish sauce with an island of smoked haddock - but he declared it utterly delicious. Desserts - very pretty and delicious. Breakfast - all the expected sort of stuff but well presented and good - though our server seemed a tad grumpy! We had booked a bargain rate so excellent value too!

I stayed for one night only and had an awesome vegetarian meal (baked butternut squash) for dinner. The hotel seems to be a popular wedding venue but as I stayed during the week it was quiet outside the restaurant. The room was comfortable, just bathroom floor squeaked. The downside was the shower - whichever way I turned the handles the water was too hot. Either it didn't function properly or I didn't operate it right but I stay in many hotels and don't consider myself daft in understanding how to operate a shower. In any case hotels should make it easy - people just want to have a shower, not to solve a puzzle of how to operate it.

Beautiful hotel and nice friendly staff. Only complaint was the room was very hot and kept me awake in the night. There isn't any air conditioning but there was a fan provided. The sash window only opened a fraction which wasn't great. The room was in the eaves/attic space which probably didn't help. Will stay again.

Overall a good place to stay with nice rooms which are well equipped, well presented and very clean. Lovely bathroom too. However staff seem inexperienced and either poorly managed or poorly trained although mostly pleasant. Gave feedback to a duty manager and they took the points on board so hopefully those things which stop this from being a great hotel will be addressed soon. Will try it again in a few weeks.

Gammalt stuk överlag. Modernt och fräscht badrum. Mycket god mat och fantastisk trädgård. Även god mat och mycket trevlig personal. Det enda som går att klaga på är att sängarna var lite hårda och kuddarna var kanske inte dom bästa (vi tar med egna nuförtiden då 9/10 hotell har vad vi anser är otillräckliga kuddar). Mycket nöjda om man ser till helheten.
