About this property
Howgill Pod
Welcome to Howgill Pod, a relaxing glamping retreat set in rolling countryside just a few miles from the market town of Kendal—famous for its mint cake and often referred to as the gateway to the Lake District. This is a place where you can truly unwind, take things at your own pace, and enjoy uninterrupted views of the surrounding fells that inspired the pod’s name.
Located on a small working sheep farm, you’ll be perfectly positioned to enjoy both tranquillity and adventure. You’re tucked away in a peaceful rural setting, yet within easy reach of the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. Outside, your private space offers a picnic bench for outdoor dining and a fire pit where you can sit back and enjoy the scenery as the day winds down. You’ll also have access to the Games Shed, where you can make the most of a selection of garden games. Up to two small to medium-sized, well-behaved dogs are welcome to join you (sorry, no large breeds).
Inside, the pod has been carefully designed to provide everything you need for a comfortable stay. It sleeps up to 2 adults and 2 children, with a double bed and a pull-out sofa bed. The compact kitchen is well-equipped for preparing simple meals, including a fridge with freezer box, microwave, air fryer, toaster, kettle, and all essential utensils. There’s also a private shower room, along with added comforts such as underfloor heating, WiFi, USB charging points, and a Smart TV. Bedding and towels are provided, so you can settle in as soon as you arrive.
Private parking is available right next to the pod, making your arrival straightforward and convenient. There’s also an EV charging point on site, available for use with charges applied based on usage via an app.
When it comes to exploring, you’ll be ideally placed. Kendal offers a great mix of independent shops, cafés, and local attractions, while the Lake District National Park is just a short drive away, offering iconic lakes, scenic walks, and breathtaking landscapes. Head in the other direction and you’ll find the Yorkshire Dales, equally stunning and perfect for days spent exploring the outdoors. Whether you’re looking for relaxation or adventure, you’ll have it all within easy reach.
