"At 06:30 each morning, individuals in other rooms would use the shower. The pipes proceeded to scream and hiss making it impossible to sleep past this time. I got to reception and it took about 20 minutes to check in with more computer clicks than I could count. I was told the room had not been paid for and now I need to check my bank to see if I have been charged twice. Breakfast was poor, the "hot" water for the tea was tepid at best, cheap sausages, over cooked bacon and scrambled egg with more milk than egg. The only pleasant member of staff was the cleaner. Won't be going here again and won't use hotels.com to book either!"

"The hotel is great - staff are lovely and facilities are very good. Great proximity to the RSC. My only complaint this time was that the TV in our room was not working properly. Not a big issue but a niggle never the less. We were not at the hotel long enough to organise its repair."

"Difficult to operate the aircon in the room, slightly shambolic breakfast arrangement, cups not very clean, lack of choice of breakfast fruits. Very shabby seating in the bar area. On the plus side, very comfortable hotel and excellent for the theatre in particular as well as for the town centre. Parking at the hotel is £10 per night."

"We were glad we opted for an upgrade to a room in the Manor House. A lovely room. Breakfast was buffet but plenty of choices and coffee was okay. Service good. We visited the pool and steam and sauna which although obviously in need of a refurbish we still enjoyed. The bar and lounge areas were comfortable. Our only problem, which was quite major for us, was Reception. My husband is disabled and we are both elderly, but when we asked for our bags to be brought down to Reception the Receptionist told us that the staff were all too busy as was she. In the event we left our bags in the room, and delayed our onward journey for an hour to help with our request. Room 2 has steep and shallow stairs that we couldn’t have managed with cases, overall left a very unpleasant taste after an otherwise enjoyable stay. I have asked for the Manager’s email or to get in touch privately but no joy."
