"Hotel was spotless and generally spectacular. Major issue was not being able to get a lounger at the spa, and when mentioned to the spa staff very little was done to help (there were many loungers not being used, and proper policing would have made this more enjoyable for all) A handful of others had the same experience. Overall, the spa overpromised and under delivered for us, but stay was otherwise flawless"
"Purdy lodge is an older property but is well maintained and kept clean and fresh.
Don't let the main road put you off, we didn’t hear any road noise as the rooms are facing the beautiful scenery at the back. Look out for the wonderful wild hares, bouncing around the fields. A joy to see.
The staff were all lovely, friendly and helpful and the breakfast and evening meal were top notch. We will stay here again next time we’re in the area."
"Excellent hotel. Larger than I expected. Staff very kind and helpful.
Very comfortable bed and bathroom. Really couldn’t fault it.
Super easy parking.
Great location for castle and town: beautiful location, and very modern building behind the street frontage.
Dinner was good. Service excellent. Wish I had booked more nights.
Oh, and BTW, the smell of the hand and shower soap was phenomenal."
"Nice old hotel which was very clean and lots of character. We were there to visit family so the location was ideal but as mentioned in other reviews it is not located in Haddington, so other than the hotel- pub - restaurant there is not much there. Haddington is about a 15 minute drive."
