"I had a really enjoyable stay at the Leonardo Hotel and was genuinely impressed from start to finish. The hotel is modern, clean, and very well maintained, with a welcoming atmosphere as soon as you walk through the door.
The room was comfortable and quiet, with a good-quality bed that made it easy to get a proper night’s sleep. Everything was spotless, and the facilities were exactly what I needed for a relaxed and stress-free stay. The bathroom was clean and well laid out, with good water pressure and plenty of towels.
The staff deserve a special mention – friendly, professional, and always happy to help. Check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient, which I really appreciated.
This stay was part of a working trip for Lonely Traveler Productions, a media company, and the hotel provided an ideal base. The calm environment, reliable facilities, and professional service made it easy to relax after a busy day and stay focused on work.
Overall, the Leonardo Hotel offered excellent value for money, comfort, and service. I would happily stay here again and would highly recommend it for both leisure and business travellers."
"I had a great stay at The Stay Company Friar Gate in Derby. The location was excellent—easy to find, with clear instructions for accessing the accommodation. There were plenty of amenities nearby, including local shopping and a good selection of restaurants. The access routes were convenient, making travel simple.
The accommodation itself was ideal for a couple. It was smartly fitted, well-maintained, and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Every aspect was thoughtfully covered.
If I were to suggest improvements, they would be minor and more personal preference: a king-size bed would have made the experience even better, and perhaps a slightly larger sofa for added comfort. However, I understand these are limited by the size of the property.
Overall, a great stay and highly recommended."
3 bed and 3 bath townhouse, free parking, sleeps 6
4/10 Poor
"It could be a really nice place but let down by the details and location. Cleanliness is poor. A toe nail clipping on the stairs, many cobwebs mostly with spiders in them, a dirty toothbrush caddy, dirt rings under the shower gel bottles, dirty marks in the showers. Only FOUR glass tumblers and FIVE mugs for a place that sleeps 6??? The Shower in the main bedroom en-suite is just a dribble. The description is misleading, there is only one en-suite, not two. It says showers in all bathrooms, but there's no shower in main bathroom. The main bedroom is very noisy, especially if you need the window open. In hot weather the top bedrooms get very warm. Bizarrely, after messaging the management company with many of these points, they eventuality replied with a boilerplate response checking if everything was ok and not mentioning anything we said! In the main living area, there is seating for only 5 people, max, so if there's six of you, hard luck. Disappointing!"
"Excellent property, modern, clean. Feels safe, easy comms, easy to get keys.
Really warm, good kitchen, only minor point is shower lacks power in onsuite but didn’t try the other bathroom!
Lots of cooking utensils, and clean baking trays which is a must. Returning. "
