The Mirador is a small, boutique hotel close to Kaohsiung's Central Park. We stayed there a week and had a very enjoyable time. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and the hotel itself which looked newly renovated, maintained a homely, elegant style. The décor could have come straight out of an Austrian ski-chalet! Even the lift had been fitted with wooden panels, wallpaper and a padded seat. The rooms are fairly small, but comfortable and well-equipped with a relatively large bathroom. Each room has a large TV, with speakers in the bathroom too. There is a choice of two types of breakfast (veggie/non) which usually includes scrambled egg or omelette, salad, fruit, crème caramel, coffee and sausage or a vegetarian alternative. You can eat your breakfast in the restaurant or the pretty roof-garden. Whilst the Mirador does not have all the facilities one would expect in a large international hotel, it is comfortable, convenient, reasonably-priced a friendly. I would definitely stay there again.
